There were a TON of huge announcements made at today’s Parks & Experiences panel at Destination D23. And that included some Disney Cruise Line news, like the name of a new ship plus details about a brand new island destination!

One of the perks of cruising with Disney is the ability to visit their private island, Castaway Cay, on select sailings. And soon, that won’t be the only private port that Disney cruisers may find on their itinerary.

Disney previously announced the construction of Lighthouse Point, a new private port being built on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

At today’s Destination D23 event, it was announced that a 3-night preview cruise on the Disney Magic will be offered on June 6th, 2024 sailing out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Passengers on this sailing will be the first to visit the new private port of Lighthouse Point.

During the panel, a specific area of the island called Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point was also a topic of discussion. Disney Lookout Cay was referred to as an “island retreat.” Based on the description given, Disney Lookout Cay sounds as though it may be a beach club guests visit when they disembark the ship at the port.

Thomas Mazloum, president of Disney Signature Experiences, shared that Disney teams are collaborating with talented artists and cultural advisors in the Bahamas to create an experience that celebrates the natural beauty, traditions, and artistry of the unique nation.
