The summer is usually pretty busy at the Disney Parks, but one American park might be even more chaotic this year.

While Disneyland may have a bit more of a laid-back vibe compared to its Florida counterpart, this summer may be anything but at “The Happiest Place On Earth”. This summer — especially a specific date — could be extra chaotic at Disneyland thanks to its 70th Anniversary Celebration.
Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary kicked off on May 16th, 2025, and is running all the way through the summer of 2026. Offerings include the return of the nighttime fan-favorite Paint the Night Parade, the return of the nighttime spectacular Wondrous Journeys, the new “Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy!”, the new “World of Color Happiness!” at Disney California Adventure, the return of “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!”, and so much more!

We’ve been to Disneyland several times since the anniversary celebration started, and while attendance has been strong, the biggest crowds will probably show up on July 17th, 2025, and after.
All of the offerings listed above have already debuted back in May. However, there are two big things still to come to Disneyland Park on July 17th — the OFFICIAL birthday of Disneyland.

The Main Street Opera House will feature a brand-new gallery experience showing the evolution of Walt Disney’s dream of Disneyland, as well as 30 artifacts from The Walt Disney Family Museum — including items from Walt’s private apartment on Main Street, U.S.A.
Some items include an original rocking chair, lamp, and table, as well as some of Walt’s humanitarian awards.

This exhibit honors the brand-new “Walt Disney – A Magical Life”, which will debut on July 17th and feature the FIRST-EVER Walt Disney Animatronic. This show, which promises to offer a closer look at Walt and his life, will eventually play in rotation with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” after its initial run.

Additionally, the same day will see the premiere of a NEW verse written by the late Richard M. Sherman in “it’s a small world”!

The new verse is as follows:
“Mother earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand in hand
It’s a small world after all.”
Here’s a video featuring “The Last Verse.”
There’s A LOT going on at Disneyland on July 17th, and even though the resort’s birthday officially ends at midnight, we still expect crowds to keep pouring in after the fact to experience these new offerings as well as all of the fun stuff going on at the Disneyland Resort for the 70th anniversary.

We’ll be there on July 17th, covering all the new offerings at Disneyland, so be sure to keep it posted right here at AllEars for all the latest coverage!
