Disneyland is Walt Disney’s original theme park, and now it’s honoring him in a brand new way!
At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024, Disney announced the show Walt Disney: A Magical Life would be coming to Disneyland in 2025. Now we know exactly when!
Disney just announced that Walt Disney — A Magical Life will officially open at Disneyland on May 16th, 2025! The show will debut inside the Main Street Opera House, to the right when you enter Disneyland.
This show is making history as it features the first-ever audio-animatronic of Walt Disney himself! We got a preview of the animatronic from this concept art when the show was announced in 2024.
After its initial debut, the show will play in rotation with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. The show featuring the 16th U.S. president has been closed since April 2024 as Disney prepared the space for A Magical Life.
At the D23 event, Disney exec Josh D’Amaro said, “Creating our first Walt figure is an idea that’s been whispered in the hallowed halls of Imagineering for years – decades, even. We just had to wait for innovation to catch up with our dreams. And we’re finally ready.”
The attraction will feature “a cinematic presentation of Walt Disney’s journey, culminating in a visit with Walt in his office, brought to life for the first time ever through the magic of Audio-Animatronics storytelling.
