Depending on their role, a Disney World Cast Member can interact with hundreds of guests during any given shift. While the majority of those encounters are of no consequence, sometimes things can get… awkward.

We reached out to former Disney World Cast Members to gather some of their most cringe-inducing stories and painfully awkward moments with guests during their time working at the “Most Magical Place on Earth.”
Let’s begin with an encounter that’s not only awkward but also potentially dangerous. As one former Cast Member shared, “I had someone throw a hot coffee on me because he didn’t like the price.”

While they explained that the coffee only got on their shirt and didn’t do any damage, suffice to say that is NOT okay.
In less potentially dangerous but just as awkward news, a former EPCOT Cast Member shared not one, but two cringe-inducing encounters from their time at Disney World’s second gate.

According to the Case Member, the first involved a guest yelling at them because the guest’s MyDisney Experience app wasn’t working. And the CM had to stress that they “just worked in merchandise… in EPCOT.”

The second involved a guest demanding a “No Strings for a FastPass to Test Track because it was raining, and the Cast Member once again needed to stress that they worked in Merchandise (nowhere near Test Track).

Finally, our last awkward encounter involves a Photopass photographer who innocently questioned if the man and woman they were photographing were a couple. The issue? Said duo were actually brother and sister…

These are just a few tales of awkward encounters former Walt Disney World Cast Members have had with guests over the years. Stay tuned to AllEars for more behind-the-scenes stories from the “Most Magical Place on Earth.”
