If you’re ready to set sail, Disney is ready to have you!

In 2022, Disney Cruise Line launched a brand-new ship, the Disney Wish. And now that the Wish has set sail, we’re excitedly awaiting the next few boats in the fleet! But there’s another big addition to the cruise line on the way as well — a brand-new island!
Disney’s new destination is called Lighthouse Point and it’s located on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas. The company just announced that they’ll welcome guests to the island for the first time in summer 2024!

According to Disney, “the vibrant island retreat at Lighthouse Point will be a unique celebration of Bahamian culture brought to life with the quality and service of a Disney vacation.” The space will feature a variety of activities for the whole family, similar to what is offered at Castaway Cay currently.

The island is designed in “a bold style inspired by nature and created in partnership with local artists.” Much of the decor features nods to local culture, including the pageantry and history of Junkanoo parades.

According to Disney, more than 90 percent of the destination’s electricity needs will be met by an onsite solar array, and the pier was designed to avoid the need for dredging. Throughout the island, elevated walkways help protect the natural landscape. The “wonders of nature” will be a major focus on this island, as guests will have the opportunity to learn more about conservation and the habitats of the Bahamas.

Around the island, you can relax on sandy beaches, visit splash areas with the kiddos, dine at the available restaurants, or even visit the Bahamian art and culture pavilion.

For those who want to enjoy some luxury and relaxation, you can visit the adult-only beach or rent a private cabana. We can’t wait to check out this whole island experience for ourselves!

We’ll keep you updated as Disney reveals more information about this island, including an official opening date. Stay tuned to AllEars!
