Can you believe it is already September?

With Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties in full swing and Halloween decor up around the Magic Kingdom, there is a lot happening in Disney World. As summer winds down and kids return to school, we expect Labor Day Weekend to be busy as one last celebration of summer. There’s one event happening this weekend you don’t want to miss.
Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant in Disney Springs is bringing back its Great Irish Hooley Music Fest for its 11th year! From September 1st through September 4th, guests can dance and sing to top Irish bands.

We were invited to preview this event, and here’s what guests can look forward to this weekend at Raglan Road.

While we ate, we got to see One For The Foxes and the Raglan Road Irish Dancers perform. You can also expect to see Strings & Things, Sina Theil, The Connemara Ramblers, Oliver Havlin, and more over the holiday weekend for the celebration.

For drinks, we grabbed the tried Sooth My Achy Heart Flight…

…as well as the Heart of the Hooley. For the flight, we enjoyed the first one the best, but they all were delicious. As for the Heart of the Hooley, it was very light and slightly sweet. If you’re looking for a good summer cocktail, this may be the right fit.

We also grabbed a few items off of the special menu! You can try the Crispy Cream Goat Cheese Salad, which is crispy fried goat cheese with pickled carrot, squash, & arugula salad, pear & shallot relish, blackberries, candied pecans, & quinoa crunch, served with a honey mustard dressing. We really enjoyed this one! The goat cheese was heavenly and the salad had great complex flavors.

We also grabbed the Seafood Sharing Board, which comes with:
- Whiskey & brown sugar cured BBQ smoked salmon
- Sesame-crusted tuna with soy, ginger, & chili dressing
- Cod, salmon, & smoked haddock fish cakes with chunky tartar sauce
- Kiss Before Shrimp with confit cherry tomatoes
We loved the BBQ salmon and think it’s divine, and while other aspects of the dish, like the fish cakes and tuna, are always on the menu, they’re cooked to perfection and well worth a try!

We also snagged the Dalkey Dog, which is beer-battered Irish pork sausage with Dalkey mustard mayonnaise, buffalo apple sauce, pickles, & crunchy fried onions. This was our personal favorite — the sauce was so flavorful and blended perfectly with the pork.

Next up was the Loaded Bang Bang Fries, which is crispy chicken, onions, peppers, & spicy bang bang mayonnaise. The sauce is really the highlight of this dish, but the chicken is crispy and we love that you get a hearty portion of everything.

We also tried the Hog in a Box — slow-roasted pork shoulder with baby potatoes, sage & sweet onion stuffing, caramelized onions, & apple sauce. The pork was delicious and the portion makes it great for a snack. The stuffing was a little dry but was better when mixed with the sauce.

Lastly, we grabbed the Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert, which is creamy cheesecake on a waffle cookie crust, served with fresh strawberries, strawberry whipped cream, & rainbow sprinkles. This is BIG, so make sure to save room for dessert. While this was a good cheesecake, our favorite part being the crust, it is just a basic cheesecake.

Reservations are recommended for this event, and you can make them by calling 407-938-0300. Here’s a look at the schedule for the events over the weekend.
