NEWS: Further DELAY Announced for Brightline Train Service to the Orlando Airport

If you’ve been hoping to use the Brightline train service that’ll connect the Orlando International Airport to South Florida, it seems you’ll have to wait a bit longer.

Previously, the service was set to launch its connection between South Florida and Orlando on September 1st. That was later delayed and the first available date to purchase a ticket was September 15th. But now it seems Brightline has hit another snag.

Despite Brightline previously sharing that construction to Orlando was complete, the start of its service connecting South Florida to Orlando has been DELAYED again.

In a message shared via Twitter/X, Brightline noted that they’re “eager to launch service and are close to identifying a start date for Brightline Orlando Station.” They shared that they have even added “a few more days to [their] work schedule to complete the final stages of certification and testing.”

But, at this point, Brightline has revealed that they will NOT be launching service to or from Orlando from September 7th to the 21st. Guests whose travel has been impacted should receive some kind of communication from Brightline and you can visit their website for questions.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, passengers who had trips booked between September 7th and September 21st are being offered refunds, upgrades to premium fares, and a discount on certain car rental rates.

When looking at the Brightline website, the first date on which new train tickets between South Florida and Orlando can be bought appears to be September 22nd. Dates before that show “no trains” available.

Of course, all of this is subject to change again. We’ll continue to look for updates and let you know what we find. Keep in mind that this is only for the service between South Florida and Orlando. The Brightline train’s path from the Airport through Orlando (with a potential stop near Disney World) is still being determined, so there’s a lot of work yet to be done there.

Stay tuned for updates.
