The only constant is change — and that’s especially true at the Disney parks!

Recently, we’ve seen changes to park pass reservations, Genie+, and more. It looks like Disney isn’t done rolling out updates just yet, because the way you make Advance Dining Reservations is about to change!
In August, Disney announced that the Advance Dining Reservations system is getting an overhaul in an effort to “simplify the dining planning experience” and make things a bit more convenient! It will now be easier to find and book reservations on the Disneyland and Disney World websites, along with the Disneyland and My Disney Experience apps.

Previously, you were only able to search for a reservation at a specific time. Now, you’ll be able to see all available reservation slots for a particular dining location instead of a handful of times that fit your selected timeframe. This will hopefully make it easier to book dining at a specific restaurant by viewing all available options

Not only that, but reservation availability will be sorted by meal period. This will allow you to view which menu is being served during the time of your reservation — so no more wondering whether the lunch or dinner menu is being served at 4PM!

According to Disney, these changes are live on the Disneyland website as of 8AM PT on August 2nd, with the Disney World website changes happened “in the coming days” after.

The app changes rolled out in phases and will be available on iOS and Android platforms with the next updates, and we’ll let you know when that might be!

We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for when these changes are live on the Disney World website, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for more!

What do you think of this change? Tell us in the comments!

It really wasn’t broken, so why “fix” it? I know change is good but sometimes it doesn’t make things easier; it’s just annoying.
Do you still have to wait 60 days before your reservation to book dinning reservations?
Hi Dee Dee, yes!
I haven’t seen it yet, but I think that’s great!
Hope it works better than the current system, Had to keep login out and back in to make some reservations.
I’ve been checking the Disneyland site, I don’t see the update yet.
I love this update to the reservation system. Can’t wait for this to go into effect!
