Update: According to the Disney Cruise Line website, DisneyBand+ is available for guests sailing on the Disney Wish and — starting with the July 29th voyage, on the Disney Fantasy. If you are sailing on a Disney Cruise Line ship, you’re encouraged to check back on the Disney Cruise Line website for more info.

If you’ve been to Disney World in the past decade or so, then you probably know about MagicBands.

These nifty little bands work as your park ticket, your room key, and offer a variety of other features. They’ve been through many iterations, most recently “leveling up” to MagicBand+ — which is when they were offered at Disneyland Resort for the first time. But now, that same technology is coming to Disney Cruise Line!
Disney announced that the MagicBand+ technology you’ve seen at Disney World and Disneyland Resort is coming soon to Disney Cruise Line, starting with select Disney Wish sailings before an official debut in the summer. For Disney Cruise Line, it will be called a DisneyBand+!

Disney says the following about the new bands: “With DisneyBand+, you’ll be able to unlock the hands-free conveniences of wearable technology on the high seas for the first time on a Disney cruise.” There will be three different Disney Cruise Line exclusive designs available.

With DisneyBand+, you’ll be able to unlock your stateroom door, charge your treats and souvenirs to the payment card on your stateroom folio, and access Disney’s Oceaneer Club while onboard and Scuttle’s Cove at Castaway Cay. It can also link your onboard photos to your stateroom whenever you take pictures with photographers on the ship.

The conveniences of DisneyBand+ start when you arrive at the port. With your DisneyBand+, you can have a hands-free boarding process. (Available at US ports only.)

Guests on select Disney Wish cruises in summer 2023 will be able to order a DisneyBand+ by visiting My Reservations between 11 and 45 days of their sail date if their reservation is paid in full. There will be a limited number of designs, but Disney shared a peek at the Disney Cruise Line exclusive designs! If you purchase in advance of your cruise, you’ll be able to save $10 on your band, and you’ll have a wider variety of designs available.

If you currently own a MagicBand+ from a trip to Disney World or Disneyland Resort, you can use that same band onboard the Disney Wish. The DisneyBand+ system will roll out across the rest of the Disney Cruise Line fleet in the future, but a launch date hasn’t been announced.

We’re excited to see this technology come to Disney Cruise Line, and we’ll make sure to give you more updates when it premieres! Stay tuned to AllEars for the latest.
