Donald Glover Gives Huge UPDATE on His Potential Return to 'Star Wars'

Star Wars Celebration Europe is right around the corner (and some exciting announcements could be in store!), plus a Star Wars celebration is coming to Disneyland, and NEW Star Wars merchandise has arrived online. But now we’ve got an update about one celebrity who played a certain suave and beloved character in the Star Wars universe.

Variety has shared that Donald Glover, who played Lando Calrissian in Solo, recently participated in a video interview with GQ Magazine and confirmed that he is in talks with Lucasfilm about potentially reprising his role as Lando Calrissian in a future Star Wars project.

The details of this project have not been revealed yet, but Glover stated, “We’re talking about it. That’s as much as I can say without [Lucasfilm president] Kathleen Kennedy hunting me down.”

In discussing Lando, Glover said, “Lando is charm incarnate…He’s kind of a maverick, which I don’t think there’s a lot of anymore. It’s hard to be the smooth talker nowadays.”

He also stated that he would love to play the role again, but only if it’s done in the right way. Glover said, “I would love to play Lando again. It’s a fun time, being him. It just has to be the right way to do it…I’m not interested in doing anything that’s going to be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I’d much rather spend time with people that I enjoy. It just has to be the right thing, and I think it could be. Lando is definitely somebody I like to hang out with.”

While it seems unlikely for this project to be for a “Solo” sequel (as that film did not perform as hoped at the box office), it is exciting to hear that talks about a potential return are already happening.
