If you’re in Disney World around this time of year, prepare for some wild things to happen.

Genie+ just hit its highest price ever at Disney World of $35 and it sold out in the morning — that’s the fastest Genie+ has EVER sold out. But trying to grab Genie+ and Lightning Lanes are not the only problems you’ll face, and we’ve got one more piece of Disney World news to share with you now.
Ride closures are sometimes scheduled and part of a designated refurbishment project. But many times, rides can suddenly and unexpectedly close during your trip due to other issues, like technical problems. If you aren’t at least prepared for the idea of that potentially happening to you, the flow of your trip could be seriously impacted.

We’ve seen all kinds of rides closed over the past few months, and now we’ve spotted even more. When we visited EPCOT, we saw that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure was closed.

Sometimes ride closures like these will only last a few minutes. But other times, they can last for several hours. This ride was back up pretty quickly…BUT another ride closed not long after.

Test Track was showing as closed in the My Disney Experience app. This ride has lots of technical difficulties and it is unclear how long the ride will be down for.

Here’s what to do if a ride suddenly closes during your trip:
- Check the My Disney Experience app constantly for updates (if a wait time for the ride is displayed, you’ll know the ride has likely reopened)
- Ask Cast Members outside of the ride if they know what has happened and if they have a better idea about when the ride might reopen
- Come up with a plan “B” in advance in case one of your must-do rides unexpectedly closes
- Mentally prepare little ones for potential closures by discussing the possibility at home
- Use that closure time to knock other things off of your list, take a break, grab a snack, or otherwise utilize your time in the park!

So don’t fret if a fan-favorite ride is closed while you are in Disney World and stay tuned to AllEars for more updates.
