Cinderella Castle

It happens ALL of the time in Disney World, rides close for many different reasons including technical difficulties, bad weather, or even power outages sometimes. But there are some rides that are more notorious than others for breaking down and we’re here to tell you the ride that broke down the MOST in Disney World in 2022!

Before we get to the winner (if you want to call it that) of the most break downs in 2022, let’s countdown with the top 3! In third place is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. This ride broke down 532 times over 264 days. Wow!

PeopleMover

We’ve seen this slow-moving tour of Tomorrowland break down several times while walking past in Magic Kingdom and we’ve even been evacuated from the ride! Because of this, it’s not surprising that it was near the top of the list for most closures.

PeopleMover

In second place is Test Track in EPCOT which closed 560 times over 303 days this year. You read that right — 560 different closures!

Test Track

Test Track is one of the most in-demand rides in the park since it is one of the few thrill rides in the park. Here’s hoping for less break downs in 2023!

Drum roll please! The ride that broke down the most in all of Disney World in 2022 is…Rise of the Resistance! This ride is notorious for constantly breaking down so it’s no surprise that the ride tops the list this year.

Rise of the Resistance

This Hollywood Studios ride closed a grand total of 580 times over 302 days. Yes, this attraction broke down 580 times! There are a lot of moving parts to this attraction which could be why it closes so often. It is important to note, though, that this is one of the newest rides in Disney World.

Rise of the Resistance

There you have it! Rise of the Resistance is the ride that broke down the most in 2022. If that attraction is a must-do for you when you visit Disney World, we recommend trying to ride it first thing in the morning. There will be a shorter wait time and if it’s open in the morning, you don’t have to worry about it breaking down later!

  1. Technolgy wise, with normal preventative maintenance, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover should have less breakdowns than any ride with moving parts. It was designed for an urban mass transit system.
