Let’s face it — Disney World vacations are expensive.
However, there are so many ways to save money throughout a vacation whether that’s taking advantage of the current ticket and hotel deals, finding free things in the parks (yes, those exist), or sharing meals with your group. Even though Disney vacations aren’t cheap, you don’t have to break the bank to have a good time! So we asked YOU, our readers, on the AllEars Facebook page what the best $10 you ever spent in Disney World — here’s what you all had to say!
Food
The most popular category of answers by far was…(drum roll please)…food! While there are some expensive food items in Disney World, there are many iconic snacks you can get for $10 or less.
It’s no surprise here that Dole Whip was something our readers said a lot! Dole Whip and Dole Whip floats are under $10 and they are a classic when it comes to Disney snacks so this makes sense! Reminder: you don’t have to go inside a Disney park to get Dole Whip — head to Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!
One of the most underrated snacks we saw on the list was Zebra Domes which are available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! These treats are made with Amarula Cream Liquor mousse, white chocolate, chocolate drizzle, and chocolate shavings on top of a thin base of cake. These are hiding at a Disney World hotel, but they are delicious and totally worth the $4.59 — you could get two orders and still be under $10!
One reader said they bought a giant lollipop for their young daughter which “made for a great photo in front of the castle.” There’s nothing wrong with a classic like a giant Disney lollipop!
There are a lot of snacks in EPCOT, but we saw the Maple Popcorn in the Canada pavilion in the comments several times! This is located at one of the snack carts in the pavilion and is one of the most popular Canadian eats in the park. Another hack if you have a popcorn bucket — you can get those $2.25 refills with the maple popcorn, too!
There are a couple of snacks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that made the list as well! Totchos from Woody’s Lunch Box for $9.99Â were mentioned by a few readers…
…as well as the Bavarian Pretzel from Baseline Tap House for $9.50. Those are both delicious and reliable options for snacking around Hollywood Studios!
Another one that readers mentioned a lot was Coffee, and we can’t blame them! Those early mornings in Disney World are no joke and coffee is a necessity for many. There are so many different options from coffee at the hotels, Joffrey’s Coffee, and Starbucks, but the drinks tend to be under $10.
Transportation
Some guests said that the best $10 they ever spent was on transportation! One reader said the best $10 they spent on their last trip was the “Uber ride back to my resort instead of waiting for transportation.”
Another reader said they took an Uber from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort  back to their resort after having dinner there instead of trying to use Disney World transportation. Disney has buses that run from each hotel to each park, but rideshare services come in handy when trying to get from hotel to hotel.
Disney does offer free transportation in many forms — the Skyliner, the Monorail, ferry boats, buses — but sometimes it’s easier and quicker to just hop in an Uber or Lyft if you’re in a rush!
Attractions
For some readers, the best $10 they spent involved rides or activities! One reader said the best $10 they spent was buying an Individual Lightning Lane for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
While Genie+ is $15 or more now, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train fluctuates between $10 and $11 per person to skip the line. If you don’t want to rope drop this ride or wait in a long line, it may be worth the $10 to save time in your day.
The activity that many readers mentioned is Remy’s Scavenger Hunt in EPCOT! This is available for the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival and soon an Olaf Scavenger Hunt will replace it for the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. One reader said it was “one of the highlights” of their trip!
For $9.99, you can grab a scavenger hunt board and once you find all of the Remys or Olafs or whatever you are looking for, you win a small prize. It’s a pretty fun activity that people often forget about!
Merchandise
We will be the first to say there is not much merchandise in Disney World under $10. However, many readers say that they love buying pins! There are different tiers when it comes to pin pricing, but some of the simpler pins are under $10.
More readers pointed out that a poncho was totally worth $10 in Disney World. Florida is known for having random rain showers and with big storms like Tropical Storm Nicole, many guests like to keep dry with a poncho. If possible, we recommend grabbing a poncho from Amazon or a store at home before your trip — they are typically cheaper than the Disney ponchos!
There you have it! These are some of the best ways to spend $10 in Disney World. Whether you spend your money on merchandise, skipping the lines with Genie+, or food, $10 can buy a variety of things in Disney World. Keep following along with AllEars on Facebook so you can participate in our next question!
