Shanghai Disney Resort to Begin Reopening Soon

COVID-19 continues to impact the world around us, including the theme park world.

We are still seeing things reopen that were initially closed during the theme park closures of 2020, like restaurants and entertainment options. And, while the U.S. Disney theme parks have remained open for some time now, the international parks have had some more recent closures. Shanghai Disney Resort shut down on October 31st due to COVID-19, but now, things are beginning to reopen.

Shanghai Disney Resort will begin a phased reopening on November 17th. According to the resort’s website, Disneytown, Wishing Star Park, and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will reopen at that time.

On November 17th, Disneytown will be open from 10AM-8PM, and Wishing Star Park will operate from 9AM-5PM. Shanghai Disney said the Disney Car and Coach Park, the Disneytown Parking Lot, and Wishing Star Ferry will also resume operations during those hours.

While these things are reopening, Shanghai Disneyland will stay temporarily closed until further notice. The Toy Story Hotel will also stay closed at this time.

Required pandemic measures are still in effect, like all locations being at controlled capacity, and all guests are required to present a green Shanghai Health QR code and a negative Nucleic Acid Test taken within 72 hours prior to entering the resort.

Temperature screenings and masks are also required at the resort, as well as social distancing.
