Tropical Storm Nicole Upgraded to a Hurricane

UPDATE: Nicole has officially been upgraded to a category 1 hurricane. 

Earlier this week, it was reported that Tropical Storm Nicole was expected to affect Florida.

A tropical storm watch has been issued for Orange and Osceola Counties, where Disney World is located, with a phased closure announced for the theme parks and other parts of the resort.

Yesterday, Tropical Storm Nicole was officially upgraded to a tropical storm, with reports that the storm would be affecting many eastern coastal counties with hurricane strength.

Now, it’s being reported that Tropical Storm Nicole will likely be classified as a hurricane when it makes landfall later in the day on November 9th. WESH 2 has shared that Nicole had slightly southward over the course of Tuesday night, and is expected to bring hurricane conditions to the central Florida coast.
