COVID-19 Warning Removed From Disney Websites as President Joe Biden Says “Pandemic Is Over”

Ever since the parks shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Disney has been constantly changing.

On top of seeing major changes like the introduction of Genie+ and Park Pass Reservations, there were tons of new health and safety measures to keep up with. Each Disney property had a specific set of rules for where guests were required to wear masks, physical distancing in queues and rides, removing masks to eat, and more, but now the it looks like the COVID-19 pandemic has come to an end in the U.S. and at the Disney parks.

On Sunday, September 18th, United States President Joe Biden sat down with 60 Minutes and discussed the state of COVID-19. According to NPR, Biden said “We still have a problem with COVID. We’re still doing a lot of work on it. But the pandemic is over. If you notice, no one’s wearing masks. Everybody seems to be in pretty good shape, and so I think it’s changing, and I think [the Detroit auto show resuming after three years] is a perfect example of it.”

Ever since COVID-19 became a pandemic in spring of 2020, Disney has had a COVID-19 health and safety measures banner on the front page of their websites including Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and Aulani. However, following Biden’s interview, these banners have been removed from Disney’s websites.

The banners did link to a page that explained all of the COVID-19 health and safety measures in depth — that page still exists on the Disney World website. Nothing on the page itself has seemed to change.

Now, though, there is no banner to be found at the top of the Disney World website…

Currently in Disney World, there is no mask requirement, but masks are recommended for anyone who is not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in indoor locations and transportation. We go to the parks every single day and we have noticed the number of guests wearing masks right now is small.

Disneyland is the same. There are currently no mask requirements and social distancing is no longer required.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the Disney websites and let you know if anything changes. Stay tuned for updates.
