See How Your Flight to Disney World May Be TWICE As Fast in the Future

It’s been a pretty difficult summer to catch flights! 

Between flight cancellations and long delays, getting on a flight has been as difficult as ever, especially from the Orlando International Airport. Thankfully, there’s a new terminal coming to MCO, and we know what the airlines will be, so hopefully that’ll help things run smoother. If you’ve ever wished your flight to Disney World was shorter, then we’ve got some good news!

The design for the fastest passenger airplane ever was just released! The Colorado based company Boom Supersonic just unveiled their design for a supersonic plane, according to CNN. The plane is called the Overture airliner, and it will fly at twice the speed of subsonic commercial jets.

According to the President at CFO of Boom Supersonic, the design is the result of 26 million hours of software simulation, 5 wind tunnel tests, and 51 different design iterations.

The aircraft is scheduled to begin production in 2024, and fly passengers for the first time in 2029. United Airlines has already ordered 15 jets and Japan Airlines will have the option to purchase up to 20 jets due to a $10 million investment in 2017.
