Are you ready to be scared out of your mind?
Well, Disney+ hopes so because the streaming subscription service just teased a brand new live-action series that is sure to give you “Goosebumps.”
That’s right, a brand new live-action Goosebumps TV series is in the works at Disney+. According to Variety, Disney+ has ordered a 10-episode season of the series based on the beloved R.L. Stine book series.
The series follows a group of high school students who have unleased a terrifying supernatural force on their town. They must come together to save the town, but in the process, they also learn that their parents harbor secrets from their own teen years.
Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman are both writers and executive producers for the new series. Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, lole Lucchese, and Neal H. Moritz are also executive producers — Moritz was also the producer on the previous two Goosebumps movies.
The Goosebumps series is one of the best-selling book series of all time, with a total of more than 200 books published in multiple languages, including related books and spinoffs. This is also the second live-action Goosebumps series for Disney — the first aired in the 1990s as an anthology series on the Disney Channel. Disney also recently teamed up with Goosebumps author, R.L. Stine, for its Just Beyond series.
