Pay-Per-Ride Prices INCREASE As Disneyland Heads Into the Weekend

The Disney Genie service launched in Disneyland Resort this week, and it was originally off to a bit of a rocky start.

The free Disney Genie and its paid counterparts, Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selection (pay-per-ride), are a little different on the West Coast, with higher prices and slightly different ways to access the service. But both coasts experience surge pricing during peak times, and now we’ve got our first look at how much it will cost you to “skip the line” at three Disneyland rides on the weekends.

Just like in Disney World, Disneyland’s version of Disney Genie is a free planning service in the Disneyland app, with options to pay for Genie+ Lightning Lanes or Individual Lightning Lanes (or as we’ve been calling them, “Fancy Rides”) for Disneyland’s three most in-demand rides.

Since debuting this week, Genie+ has cost $20 per person for nearly 20 rides, and Individual Lightning Lanes range from $7 to $20 depending on which ride you’re purchasing.

But, Disney had previously shared that pricing for these pay-per-ride attractions would vary based on date, attraction, and park, and now that Disneyland is entering its first weekend with the Disney Genie in operation, we are seeing surge prices for the first time.

So, while WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure Lightning Lane cost $7 earlier this week, today it increased to $12 per person.

And, Radiator Springs Racers also jumped from $7 to $12 per person today.  These two rides are located in Disney California Adventure.

However, in Disneyland Park, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance remains at $20. It’s likely that this ride will stay $20 all the time, as this has been the case for the attraction in Disney World.

These prices are subject to change but you’ll want to keep this in mind if you’re headed to Disneyland on the weekend and planning to pay to skip the line at these attractions. And, we’ll keep an eye out for more pricing updates, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
