SeaWorld San Diego to Reopen as a Theme Park

Last year, California theme parks were hit hard by the global health crisis, resulting in closures of theme parks throughout the state.

However, theme parks across California are gradually reopening, with Disneyland’s big reopening date set for April 30th. SeaWorld San Diego reopened in February, but only as a zoo. Now, it’s starting to return to normal operations!

Since February, visitors could only enjoy SeaWorld’s outdoor animal exhibits, as well as live educational presentations (with social distancing protocols in place). However, no rides were open at the time. That, though, is about to change.

According to Attractions Magazine, SeaWorld San Diego will officially reopen as a theme park beginning tomorrow, April 12th. This means that rides will be running for visitors, while under California’s reopening guidelines for theme parks. Outdoor and indoor attractions will have limited capacity with the appropriate health and safety measures in place. Also, only California residents will be allowed entrance.

SeaWorld San Diego will continue to operate with its enhanced cleaning protocols, face-covering requirements, and temperature screenings. A limited number of date-specific tickets are available and must be purchased in advance. Check back with us for more theme park news!
