If you’re visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the next few days, you’ll be in for a special treat — Kali River Rapids reopened from its refurbishment a few days early!

The ride was originally scheduled to reopen on Friday, April 2nd, but it looks like it was ready to go earlier than anticipated! We stopped by Animal Kingdom this afternoon to check it out!
When we approached the entrance to the ride, we noticed that several other guests had noticed that the ride reopened a few days early. There was a posted wait time of 35 minutes, despite there being no indication anywhere (not even on My Disney Experience!) that the ride was open.

If you’ve never been on Kali River Rapids, we should warn you: you will get wet, you MAY get soaked.

This is the perfect attraction if you love water rides and you find yourself in Animal Kingdom on a sunny, hot Florida day.

As far as social distancing on this ride goes, we noticed Cast Members including one empty seat in between each party (the rafts can normally seat up to 12 riders). When we rode by ourselves, we had two empty seats between us and the next party!

We’ll keep a watchful eye on other Disney World rides and attractions currently down for refurbishment, and we’ll make sure you know about the latest operational changes ahead of your next vacation!
