Universal Orlando has been dropping big news left and right over the past few weeks.

Along with the announcement that VelociCoaster would be coming in summer 2021 and the release of its trailer, Universal also updated its health and safety measures to bring back finger scanners at the park entrances. However, the theme park news doesn’t stop there!

After speaking with a Team Member, we learned that Universal Orlando will be closing the Volcano Bay water park for the upcoming winter season. While it’s typical to see water parks close in the winter for weather reasons and refurbishment, Volcano Bay’s “seasonal closure” is pretty extensive.

Normally, water parks will close in the fall and re-open early after winter around January or February. However, Volcano Bay has listed its closure from November 2nd, 2020 through March 1st, 2021. During its closure, Team Members will be working on annual maintenance on its slides and other attractions.

Volcano Bay reopened with the rest of Universal Orlando back in June. Recently, the water park reduced its hours and switched to a five-day schedule, where the park was closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.
