Dear Disney, Why Haven’t You Made Attractions Based on These Seven Movies?

As much as we love the Disney Parks, we still have a few dream attractions on our wishlist — and a bunch of ’em are based on movies we think are a underrated!

Tangled Section

Disney is known for their incredible storytelling. And there’s something uniquely magical about being transported into our favorite films via in-park attractions! We’ll never forget the wonder we felt the first time we flew above Neverland on Peter Pan’s Flight. Or the breathtaking experience of soaring through Pandora on a banshee on Flight of Passage.

But just like Walt said, the parks will never be finished. So here are seven movies we want to see Disney create attractions for next!

Tangled

Okay, so there are Tangled bathrooms in Fantasyland. And we can even see Rapunzel’s tower in the distance. But we think settling for a pretty bathroom and some scenery is selling this movie short! Between the exciting action sequences, gorgeous visuals, and entertaining characters, the Imagineers could take a Tangled attraction in countless different directions.

Oh, and while we’re at it, we would also love to see a real-life version of The Snuggly Duckling in the parks! Please and thank you!

The Emperor’s New Groove

While we could see tons of different takes on a Tangled attraction, we have a very specific vision in mind for The Emperor’s New Groove. We can’t be the only ones who desperately want to hear “pull the lever Kronk,” right before we drop down on a rollercoaster into Yzma’s lair!

The movie already has the perfect set-up for this attraction, and seeing it in action would be a childhood dream come true.

WALL-E

With the futuristic setting and environmentally focused message, we think a WALL-E attraction would be a great fit for EPCOT. The Axiom provides plenty of different settings the attraction could utilize. But our personal favorite scene is one that takes place outside of the ship — can you imagine dancing through space with WALL-E and EVE?

We think the visuals on a WALL-E attraction could even rival the gorgeous setting of Pandora!

Mulan

This movie seems like the perfect opportunity to add another thrilling ride into the parks! There are plenty of action scenes from which the Imagineers could draw inspiration. And, of course, they could use Mushu for some comic relief to keep things from getting too scary.

Oh, and we would definitely give bonus points if the attraction managed to incorporate some of the music from the soundtrack. “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” really gets us pumped up!

Pocahontas

Now that we’ve seen Pocahontas and Meeko floating by on the Animal Kingdom character cavalcades, we’ve realized how much we would love to see them as a more permanent part of the park! Given the storyline of the movie, Disney could tie in a message of conservation with a Pocahontas attraction.

And this is another movie with both gorgeous visuals and a wonderful soundtrack to draw from!

Hocus Pocus

In previous years, the Sanderson sisters have made an appearance in the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” stage show during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. But we think Hocus Pocus is worthy of a permanent attraction! Maybe we could go on a high-flying adventure to evade the witches until sunrise. Or perhaps they could charm us with year-round musical performances!

In fact, these ladies are so entertaining, we would even be all-in for a Sanderson sisters meet-and-greet in lieu of (or in addition to!) an attraction!

Hercules

We’ve always wanted to run through Phil’s training courses. And battle the Titans to save the world. And head to the Underworld to show Hades who’s boss. Hercules has enough solid setups for several attractions, honestly!

And with a live-action movie in the works, now is as good a time as ever to give this movie an attraction, right??

Between fighting off baddies, hanging with some witty witches, and marveling at the wonders of the universe, these are the movies we would LOVE to see Disney Imagineers work their magic on! Now, we’re off to go dream up more attractions for our wishlist…

What movie-inspired attractions would you like to see Disney create?? Let us know in the comments!

  1. The fact that not one single park has a ride based on The Emperor’s New Groove is borderline criminal. What a fantastic concept. If you’ve ever ridden Verbolten at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, you know the design is right there – the floor literally drops out halfway through the ride. PERFECT Yzma’s lab ride.

  2. Oh my gosh let’s start a petition to get some of these ride ideas from paper to reality 🥰 ! I’d def make the trip to Disney to ride any and all of them

  3. The Nightmare Before Christmas overlay at HM in Disneyland is great but would love to see it get a permanent dark ride.

  4. Coco! The space is already there. Just refurb Gran Fiesta Tour! The movie was awesome so I can only imagine what they could do with the space.
