We’ve been hearing a TON of updates about the state of the Disney Parks, Disney Cruise Line, and Disney+ moving forward today!

During the Bank of America Virtual 2020 meeting, the Walt Disney Company CFO Christine McCarthy gave insight into Disney’s plans across the board in the near future and later down the line. Specifically, McCarthy stated that the company is putting a lot of focus on investing in the theme parks.
Previously, the CFO stated that the company would be focusing on three upcoming projects as priorities — Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in Disney World, Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland.

Since these projects are already “in-flight”, Disney is pushing forward to see their completion. While the Quinjet recently arrived at the construction site of Avengers Campus, there isn’t a certain date when the land will arrive after previously projected for this past summer.

On the other hand, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is still on track with its construction. Construction has been making progress on the 2-day, 2-night experience that will take guests on their own galactic adventure near Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway has opened in Disney World, but the Disneyland version has been delayed due to the closures. Even though the ride was going to open in Toon Town in 2022, now the attraction won’t make its way into the park until 2023 instead.

While these projects have been prioritized, we’ll still be keeping our eye on the construction of the TRON Coaster, Play! Pavilion, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and more in Disney World!

Any project in the middle of construction will be completed. After that, I fear it will be years before we see a C or E ticket attraction open anywhere in Orlando.
