This morning, nominations were announced for the 2020 Emmys, which are set to take place on Sunday, September 20th.
This year marks the first one that Disney+ programming became eligible for the awards, and the streaming program picked up a big nomination!
The Mandalorian has been given fifteen Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.
The nomination comes a few weeks after it was reported that the Emmys had actually had to change their rules due to The Mandalorian, which featured several actors standing in for the physical performance of the lead character.
Along with its Outstanding Drama Series nomination, the series also picked up nominations for visual effects, composer, and acting nominations for Giancarlo Esposito as outstanding guest actor in a drama, and Taika Waititi as IG-11 scored an outstanding character voice-over performance nod.
The series is still set to premiere its second season this October on Disney+. We will continue to bring you any further updates from The Mandalorian, along with Disney’s other original programming.

In a word…Yes.
Great series. At Disneyland I met Boba Fett while wearing a Mando hat and we had a fun interaction when he asked me if I would turn in my wife if there was a bounty on her.
