If you’ve ever flown in for a trip to Disney World, chances are may have passed through Orlando International Airport.
In a typical year-long period, the airport will see around 40 million passengers, making it a popular spot to travel through for Central Florida vacations. Due to the current global health crisis, the airport has announced a variety of new health and safety procedures to protect both their employees and travelers. Today, the airport announced another protocol they will be putting in place.
Effective immediately, Orlando International Airport’s “badged employees” will be required to wear a face covering or face mask at the airport, while also maintaining physical distancing.
The new requirement is being done as the airport has announced an increase in recent travel through the airport. While the requirement is for airport employees, they are also continuing to encourage all travelers to wear a face mask or face covering when visiting.
The news was announced by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, or GOAA, in response to Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer’s Executive Proclamation “directing protective measures at [Orlando International Airport].”
We will continue to update with any further procedures in place, or new developments at Orlando International Airport.
