As Florida continues its phased reopening, we have begun to see proposals from both the larger theme parks and some smaller attractions in the state regarding a reopening plan and date.

Last night, Universal Orlando’s proposed reopening date of June 5th (with a soft reopening for team members starting June 1st) was approved by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, and will next go on to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for approval. But, Universal wasn’t the only attraction approved by Mayor Demings yesterday — there were also thirteen other smaller attractions that had their reopening plans approved by the local government.
In addition to sending a letter of endorsement forward to Governor DeSantis on Universal Orlando’s reopening plan and date, the following smaller attractions also received letters of endorsement from Mayor Demings
- Nona Adventure Park
- Fun Spot of Florida
- Orlando Slingshot
- Orlando Starflyer
- I-Drive Thrill Park
- K1 Speed Orlando
- Gatorland
- Aloma Bowl and Boardwalk Bowl
- Boardwalk Bowl
- Andretti’s Indoor Karting and Gaming
- Wonderworks Orlando
- ICON Park Orlando

While not in Orange County, Legoland Florida in Winter Haven has also received local permission to reopen on June 1st, and will move forward to the Governor for approval.

So far, Disney World and SeaWorld have not submitted their own proposals for reopening to Florida’s Orange County Task Force, but Mayor Demings announced yesterday that he expects Disney World will be submitting their’s sometime next week.

We will continue to bring you updates regarding the theme parks, as well as the reopening of Florida at large.
