Potter fans, rejoice! There’s a brand new, incredibly magical way to hear your favorite story!
The Wizarding World, home of Pottermore, announced a brand new video series where stars from Harry Potter and beyond will be reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone! (Or Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, depending where you live.)
Star readers include Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts Films), Stephen Fry (narrator of the British Harry Potter audiobooks, among many other credits), Claudia Kim (Nagini in the Fantastic Beasts films), Noma Dumezweni (Hermione in the original runs of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Dakota Fanning (we aren’t sure why), and David Beckham (we aren’t sure why again, but no complaints.).
Each of these narrators will be reading a portion of the first Harry Potter book, which they recorded at home, and will be accompanied by original fan artwork.
The most exciting star announced today was Daniel Radcliffe — that’s right, Harry Potter himself! He’s starting this new series off by reading Chapter 1: The Boy Who Lived (goosebumps). 10 points to Gryffindor!
The Wizarding World announcement promised more magical surprises are readers from the Harry Potter films and beyond throughout the book!
