Disney Pic of the Week: Main Street USA

Photographic Innoventions by Scott Thomas

When touring Walt Disney World with friends and family who have never been to the Magic Kingdom, I tell them how I do not feel like I am at Disney until I walk up Main Street USA. It is hard to describe but if feels timeless. Yes, things have changed over the years but the essense of what Walt Disney wanted to convey to his guests is still there. A place and a time which was less hectic as the world we live in and where he grew up in.

Another thing I share with them is to always look up to see the many windows dedicated to past and current Cast Members which made large contributions to the Disney company over the years. As well as notice the detail in the architecture and colors used for each store as they walk up the street. The Uptown Jewelers is a good example. There one can buy those beautiful Disney snow globes, photo frames, charms, pens, jewelry, watches and other finery.
