Favorite WDW Ice Cream Treat – Mickey’s Ice Cream Bar or Mickey’s Ice Cream Sandwich?

It doesn’t matter if you’ve been to Walt Disney World only once or a thousand and one times, I know you’ve seen those carts or kiosks selling ice cream treats. And you’ve probably stopped and bought one of those treats So, what is your favorite; the Mickey’s Ice Cream Bar or the Mickey’s Ice Cream Sandwich?

Of all my “favorite” blogs this is probably one of the most difficult ones for me to decide what’s my favorite. I love them both; as well as the fruit bars. Nothing beats those treats for a quick between meal snack, a parade watching snack or just a cool me down snack..

Mickey's Ice Cream Sandwich

Even thought I love them both I’m not going to wimp out and not choose. So, here’s the list of my favorite ice cream treat:

My Favorite Ice Cream Treat

1) Mickey’s Ice Cream Bar
2) Mickey’s Ice Cream Sandwich
3) Fruit Bar

There’s not much to say here except I’m one of those folks who eats all the chocolate off of the Mickey’s Ice Cream bar before I eat the ice cream. If I don’t, pieces of that chocolate always end up on my shirt. 🙂 And I love the challenge of staying ahead of the melting ice cream on those really hot and humid Florida days.

OK, I’ve told you mine, now it’s your turn to let me know what your favorite ice cream treat is. If others in your family have a different favorite made sure you let us know what theirs is. (Example: me – Mickey Bar, wife – Ice Cream Sandwich, son – Mickey Bar.) So let me know your favorite treat, I’d love to hear from you!

You could win an AllEars® baseball cap. I will take all the names of those who post a comment (see below) with your list within the next couple weeks, and I will put them in a hat and randomly draw the name of the lucky winner. The only rules are that you must reside in the US, be 18 years old or older and you must provide your email address so I can contact you should you win.

All comments must be posted no later than Sunday, October 3, 2010 in order to be eligible to win the baseball cap. The winner of the AllEars® baseball cap will be announced shortly thereafter.

In the coming weeks I will blog on more “favorite” things to do in Walt Disney World. Also, let me know if you have any suggestions as to other things you would like to see “top lists” of. I’m open to any and all suggestions. So far readers have suggested I blog on Magical Moments and Favorite Disney snacks, deserts and characters. Great ideas! What do you think? Based on the number of comments, I think you all agree that these are fun to do.

And the winner is: the winner of the AllEars® baseball cap for commenting on my “Favorite WDW Tour” in each of the WDW parks” blog is: Rob Brookhart from Iowa. Congratulations to Rob and “thank you” to everyone who took the time to share their “Favorite WDW Tour” and all the loyal AlllEars® readers!

I also want to comment on last weeks blog. The Le Vins de France and their Grand Marnier Slush (France) was very popular as were the Rose and Crown (United Kingdom), the Tambu Lounge (Polynesian) and the Dawa Bar (Animal Kingdom). The Mexico Pavilion in Epcot had two favorites in La Cava de Tequila and the Margarita Stand. One of the more interesting favorites was the plum wine in China. Even though I’m not much of a wine drinker it sounds like something I’d like to try.

Did you know AllEars® has a huge area called Rate and Review where you can share your dining reviews with fellow readers? Check it out!

Finally, be one of the first people to hear when my newest blogs go live on AllEars.net by joining “DisneyMike’s World” Facebook group.

Well, that’s all for now. As my good friend says, “see ya real soon”…DizneyMike

  6. My Favorite Ice Cream Treat

    1)Soft serve swirl Auntie Gravity
    2)Dole Whip
    3)fruit bar

Your comments: I know this was originally the carts, but when I saw so many others venture off the path, I had to answer with the first treat that came to mind! Auntie Gravity’s is a “must-do” for my family every trip! I ALWAYS get the swirl, but the rest of the family will mix it up a bit. We discovered Dole Whips 2 trips ago (I know, what took us so long??) so that HAD to be on the list. From the carts, I usually pick the fruit bar– trying to convince myself it’s the “healthy” choice! But I do also love the Mickey bar!

  7. My Favorite Ice Cream Treat

    1) Dole Whip
    2) Kaki Gori in Epcot Japan (close enough to ice cream, right?)

Thanks for doing ice cream — I was at a bit of a loss last week, not being much of a drinker! But ice cream, do I know ice cream!

We have a “tradition” of going to the Magic Kingdom and getting a Fudge Brownie Sundae on the arrival day of any visit to Walt DIsney World. I’m sure I could make one at home but it would just not be the same.

    Your comments:
My favorite frozen ice cream treat at Disney is definitely Dole Whip. I love to get one at the Polynesian and then go sit and watch the Magic Kingdom Fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant. After that, nothing beats a Mickey Bar. I always eat the chocolate off first or else I end up looking like a 3 year old with chocolate all over my face. As for my third, I’m not sure it really counts as Ice Cream, but I love getting frozen lemonade. It is always the perfect drink to chill out with.

You can’t beat a Mickey Ice Cream Bar with its rich chocolate covering and creamy vanilla ice cream. MMMM…wish they made them for home consumption, but only getting them in WDW makes them all the more irresistible. The Dole Whip is a refreshing treat on a hot day and is a must every trip, and you can’t go wrong with a traditional cone dipped from the ice cream parlor on Main Street.

I also eat the chocolate first when eating a Mickey Ice Cream Bar. I have a pic of my daughter (who was 2 and a half at the time and wearing white – I know bad move)covered in chocolate after eating a Mickey Ice Cream Bar. It started at her eyebrows and finished on her toes. Happy days…

    3)Repeat 1&2

I will be visiting in Nov 2010,and hope that it’s not so cold that I don’t enjoy my Mickey ice cream bar! I’m from the Florida panhandle, so I know first hand how crazy our Florida weather can be.

  28. My Favorite Ice Cream Treat

1)Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich @ Main St. Bakery
    2)Mickey Ice Cream Bar
    3)Ghiardelli’s Hot Fudge Sundae

Admittedly, I had never had the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich @ the Main Street Bakery til my last visit. I had seen a photo of it on someone’s Disney Blog and decided to try it out. WOW! Hands down the best value ever…and delicious, too! Yummy, soft, chewy cookie and smooth vanilla ice cream…delightful! Up until my last visit, my all-time favorite ice cream at the park was the Mickey Ice Cream Bar. My son’s favorite- the itzakadoozie. We’d search out those ice cream carts and race to get in line!
It’s tradition on the last evening of our trip that we go to Ghiardelli’s. While I’m always tempted to try something new, I stick with my usual,a hot fudge sundae.

  29. 1.) Mickey Mouse Bar.
I always make sure I have at least a few of these on my trips to Disney. Lol. Can’t live without the Mickey Mouse Bar.
    2.) funnel Cake.
I know it’s not ice cream, but my mom and I always have at least one in Frontierland. Yummy.
3.) Ice Cream Sundae @ Pop Century
On our last day we use our Snack Option for an Ice Cream Sundae which is very well worth using the point left over. You get more then a portioned amount and you can pick your own toppings and such. It’s a tradition for us to end our trip with one of these. 🙂

This year, however, i’m dying to try a Dole Whip. After reading about everyone just loving one of these I will have to try it. 🙂
