Review of Chef Mickey's Breakfast

Chef Mickey's is the must-do first breakfast to set the mood of your trip. The food is always good, and the characters are great. Our most recent breakfast was the morning they moved over to the Convention Center to start a refurb on the restaurant. It was easy, and the Gang had more room to wander around. The only negative is how popular it is, meaning how challenging it can be to get a reservation.

Our favorite character meal! Stitch no longer goes around to the tables and instead has a meet & greet out in front. You check in, get in line for your photo with Stitch, and by the time you're done with him your table is ready. I found this to be very smooth. The food and service are always great. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is all about 'Ohana. And the juice. If you've been there, you know. If not, don't skip the juice.

Excellent breakfast, great princesses, accommodating service. My son wanted Mickey waffles which are not on the menu, and our server was happy to put in a special order. Same for my nieces who wanted scrambled egg whites. My only issues are that it is really far away when you're hungry first thing in the morning(!), and that the earliest reservation is 8:05a. We are unlikely to go back for breakfast, simply for how far away it is -- especially if you enter Epcot from France and have to walk all the way around the north side of the lake to get there.

We tried this for breakfast on our first morning in Epcot recently. Entered the park at 8:50 and were there by 9:05. It is authentic French offerings -- delicious and filling -- and quite the diverse selections for a Patisserie. It was insane to walk all the way to France first thing in the morning for breakfast, and then walk all the way back for a Soarin' FP an hour later ... but that's on us, not them.

Our party was very mixed in its opinions of this restaurant. My dinner and my friend's dinner were probably the best we had over the week; my husband said his was the worst; my mom and cousin said theirs were somewhere in between, mom leaning toward the better side, but cousin leaning toward the worse side. The atmosphere was good, the view is outstanding, the service was great. I would go back, my husband would not ...

This meal was was considered universally excellent among our party of 8. But. We all agreed that the food did not merit the prices listed on the menu, and that the food choices were very narrow. Yes, they were accommodating, but one member of our party was very frustrated trying to find something she'd be willing to eat -- it was all geared more toward a foodie than an average person who has spent an exhausting day in an amusement park. Although we all enjoyed it, we agreed that we would not go back without the dining plan.

We decided that since we would be at WDW when the party was happening, we'd fork over the cash to experience it once. I did not feel that it was worth the money -- we had a great touring plan, but because of the crowd level we were unable to accomplish anything; and we were all so tired and frustrated by 8pm that we were done. We managed to stick around for a Totally Tomorrowland Christmas, a Frozen Holiday Wish, and the fireworks. My husband said that the fireworks alone were worth the money. I'm cheaper than he is, so although the fireworks *were* amazing I'm not so sure. We are glad we did it once, but we will not be doing it again.

Eight people, all happy. The food was *amazing.* Everyone in our party was delighted -- it was the only night my mom finished her whole meal! Our service was o.k. -- because we were a table of 8 we were in the corner by the dessert counter, so it was easy to forget us. They did their best and were very pleasant, they just weren't particularly attentive -- which is not all that different from being in Italy, so I guess they nailed it. LOL. And it was *crazy* noisy in there. All in all, we will go back.

The choices here are phenomenal, so we always make this our Quick Service choice at Epcot. It tends to be very crowded. And on our recent trip, we all noticed that everything, although delicious, was saltier than normal.

We love the Rose & Crown! It's always good food (two words: Scotch. Egg.), it's always a great staff. It is fairly noisy in there, but that lends some authenticity to the experience of an English pub.
