Review of Caribbean Beach Resort (Moderate Resort)

It has everything Disney and is great- especially for families of 5, which is hard to fit in an affordable Disney room. The only problem is that it is so spread out, we have a hard time getting from place to place. Usually we will only book this resort if we are on a short trip and won't be spending much time in the room/resort.

Pros:

Affordability

Cons:

too large

Review of Homecomin': Florida Kitchen and Shine Bar

This is hands down my new favorite restaurant in Disney Springs!!! I dined here on Friday, June 2nd with my 17 year old daughter, my sister and 1 year old niece. We had a 5:25 reservation and were seated promptly at a table near a window with a gorgeous view of the Springs.

We ordered cocktails first. I started with the Moonshine Mash (ended up having 2 of them) and it was heaven in a cup. Next came the appetizers. We split the fried green tomatoes and an order of hush puppies. Both were delicious!

For entrees, my daughter and I had the fried chicken, and both agreed it was the best we have ever had. My sister had the short ribs, and she found them to be superb as well.

Our server was excellent!

The manager went out of his way to see that all of our needs were met, even bringing us a bowl of strawberries (free of charge) to my slightly unhappy niece. When we requested them, the manager said,"consider it already done." He checked on us a few times after that, which was a wonderful gesture.

I will definitely be back, already trying to fit it in last minute for our trip over the 4th of July...

Review of All Star Sports Resort (Value Resort)

We have stayed at the All Star Sports many times. While it can be crowded, depending on the time of year, it is no more crowded than other places we have stayed during the same time of year. The beds are Disney quality and clean, the bathrooms are tight but more than adequate. Although the Polynesian is our family favorite for the atmosphere, the All Star Sports has become more appropriate for our family of 5 (our boys are too big now for anyone to fit comfortably on the trundle beds in the moderate/deluxe resorts). We can get two rooms here for half the price of the deluxe AND have two bathrooms and each son has their own bed. Definitely worth the price.

Pros:

Affordability

Cons:

Less luxury

Review of Cape May Cafe - Character Breakfast

Had breakfast reservations here on Saturday, June 3rd at 9:10 am. We were seated about 20 minutes after our reservation time, which was no big deal. Our party consisted of me, my sister, my 17 year old daughter and 1 year old niece.

Our server was wonderful, even bringing my niece a cupcake at the end of our meal.

The food selection was excellent, fresh and delicious.

The character interaction was great. And all 3 (Minnie, Goofy and Donald) came around a few times.

Its been about 5 years since I've done this particular character meal, and found it to be just as wonderful this time around. I highly recommend it.

We ate here on May 11 and enjoyed the theme and the food. My grandson really enjoyed his Spaghetti and Meatball. My daughter had the Baked Rigatoni and enjoyed it. She also had a cannoli. It was her first. My meal was the Chicken Parmigiana and the tiramisu. We do not like spicy Italian foods so this was great for us. Our waiter (Alfie) was the best we had all week.

We ate here 6/5. I had the LA Lasagna it was outstanding. My daughter had the Mayor of Flavortown (burger) which she enjoyed. We had the World Famous Chicken Crunch as an appetizer.

The only downside of our meal was being seated next to a boisterous guy with a fake English accent trying to impress his GF.

Pros:

Quality of food

Cons:

Noisy

Have 2 daughters with birthdays during June so we decided to go on our last trip. Sunday afternoon at 2:30 was our time. Showed up a little early and were seated immediately. Party of 4, my 3 girls who range in age from 13 to 20 and me, the dad. The 2 birthday girls received a long stemmed rose. We had the 4 course tea and it was very nice. My daughters all enjoyed it and I did too. Out server was very attentive and explained any questions. The place was only about half full. I wore nice khaki shorts and a polo shirt and easily fit in. My girls all wore dresses because they wanted to dress up. The food was good and we enjoyed the experience. We took lots of pictures and would do it again. No complaints at all.

Fun, atmosphere,food

We had never done this show and I wanted to try it. Called Disney dining and got a table that night, Saturday for 4, category 2. We had the 8:15 time slot and I was worried because it drizzled rain all afternoon and was still raining when we got there but all the seating is covered so no worries. My 3 daughters enjoyed the show and the meal as did I. Out server was attentive and took great care of us. We would do this again. No complaints.

Good food, enjoyable show

Visited May 30-June 5th. I've never been a fan of Avatar. Saw it, thought it was an okay movie, still not convinced this is a good fit for Disney. I went in with an open mind, and honestly was kind of disappointed in the theming. The fake plants are obvious, and not numerous enough to make it feel totally alien. At night there isn't really enough illumination to match the movie which was surprising. After visiting a second time at night it seemed better since it was less crowded, the best part being the 'glowing' walkways. We had a fastpass for Flight of Passage and walked right on, with the standby line ridiculously long. We got all the way to the ride vehicles and the person I was with , who is not that large, couldn't ride since the restraint wouldn't fit to his leg. This is totally upsetting since he has never been unable to ride any other Disney ride. Out of respect for him I didn't ride either, and was told we would get a fast pass for any other ride we wanted, EXCEPT the Na'vi River Ride. Thanks, welcome to our new land, you can't ride anything! Walking out another man was waiting for his party and the same thing happened to him, his calf wouldn't allow the restraint to set. Not cool Disney. We went again one early morning and I got on, and the ride is extremely well done, very cool, like Soarin on steroids. What's odd is, this time the leg restraint didn't even come close to the back of my leg, and seemed unnecessary. What gives? Disney has their Universal fighter.
The Na'vi River Journey ( which we had a fastpass for another day) is short but done well, the best thing being the animatronic at the end.
We ate breakfast at the Satu'li Canteen, which was pretty good, we had the 'steak and eggs' which was a generous portion of meat, and the french toast, each made to look a bit alien.
I was excited since this was 'new Disney' and not Avatar. I was underwhelmed to be honest, and I really wanted to like it. The Flight of Passage is a fantastic ride, one of the best. The rest all feels a bit... alien... and not very Disney.

Pros:

well designed new land

Cons:

friend couldn't ride Flight of Passage
