Review of Cinderella's Royal Table Lunch

Our dining party was my 15 year old daughter and my husband. We started our royal adventure by a picture with Cinderella. Years ago we were given the actual photo but it is now linked to your photopass with your magic band. We were very hungry and started the meal with a tasting plate. This is where our disappointment began. We are three hungry "adults" and the plate had barely anything on it. I mean three little half pieces of bread and a few cheeses and meats. It was good and we enjoyed trying everything but the plate could have served 1 person. We should have each had our own plate. Next up was our main entrée. My husband and I ordered the beef and shrimp. The shrimp were way over cooked but had good flavor. The beef and potatoes were great. My daughter ordered the fish of the day which was salmon and loved it. Again, the portions were incredibly small. The dessert was good. They had the chocolate mousse and I had the carrot cake. Good but nothing "out of this world." The princess interaction was Amazing! We were visited by Snow White, Jasmine, Aurora and Ariel. They were interactive and fun. Overall, it is worth it to eat in the castle once but the overall price of the food was so ridiculous for the portion. I left not feeling full and wanted a snack 2 hours later! Honestly, I paid $75 per meal! The portions should have been bigger OR they could have served a salad and rolls with the meals. I will not be eating here for a very long time because of the food portions. If you have young children that adore the princesses, it is a must do!I give this a ten for character interaction and 5 for food portion for the price I paid. So it comes out to a Total of 7.

Pros:

Meeting Princesses, Castle is Cool

Cons:

Small Food Portion

Had a very enjoyable lunch here on December 26. It was a perfect day weather-wise and we were seated almost immediately outside. My daughter had the chicken leeks pasty as an app and I had the scotch egg. We both loved them! For entrees I had the bangors and mash and my daughter the fish and chips. Plus I couldn't resist - I had to try the mushy peas as a side. It's exactly as it sounds. A thick pea soup almost. Everything was really good. Our waiter was terrific. Great meal!

Pros:

service, food, seating

Cons:

Review of Polynesian Deluxe Studios (Disney Vacation Club)

We stayed in a studio DVC room in the Moorea Building from 12/22-12/27. This was only our second time at Polynesian and our first since 2007 when our kids were still...kids! We were very happy with our stay. The Polynesian is so beautiful and so incredibly themed. All the cast members greet you with an "Aloha!" which adds to the fun.

The check-in process was smooth and friendly. We had lunch reservations at Kona Café and before we were done eating I received a text saying our room was ready! The separate longhouses are spread out a bit but our walk from the lobby to our room was probably 7-8 minutes. We were happy to find out later that the walk from our room to the T&TC was even quicker. Very convenient for access to the monorails heading to MK or Epcot. The pathways get a little dark at night making it a little challenging but they're lit by tiki torches which makes it fun!

Our room was a decent size with nice décor, clean and comfortable. There was enough storage space for four people to survive just fine for five days. We were so happy to see we had two bathrooms! Two showers and two sinks - only one toilet. Boy did this help speed up the "get ready" time in the mornings.

The Great Ceremonial House, as the lobby building is known, can get crazy busy during afternoons and evenings and that's a good enough reason for me to avoid it whenever possible! The Kona Café, O'Hana's, a lounge, two gift shops and a coffee and pastry shop are all located there. We didn't do much at the cafeteria besides filling our resort mugs so I am not able to comment on that. The quiet pool was centrally located and very, well, quiet. It was a nice place to stop for a drink. The main resort pool was usually pretty busy.

We enjoyed our stay very much at the Polynesian and can't wait for a return visit!

Pros:

peaceful, beautiful resort

Cons:

nothing at all

Review of Pop Century Resort (Value Resort)

This was our second stay in the past 2 yrs. We visited for 6 days Nov/Dec 2016. There 3 adults and a 13 yr old. We like that POP has a nice variety at their food court- basics for the non-adventurous and yet some really unique meals to try for those who are. I like that this resort is better lit than many other resorts (Poly and POR come to mind, which can get down right spooky at night). Having visited many other resorts and stayed at a few others I can appreciate that POP has qued bus lines. You get on the bus in the order you arrived in line. Most of the other resorts are not qued and it is a mad pushing match to see who gets a seat on the bus. I appreciate the order that a qued line provides because we are not aggressive.

We loved playing ping pong by the pool (25cents for the ball from a machine at the pool bar) and walking across the bridge to Art of Animation next door.

Rooms are small, but we feel are adequate for our needs. Beds were getting worn down this year and a full size is not a lot of room to get comfy. Otherwise, no complaints.

Pros:

qued bus lines, food court, well lit

Cons:

small rooms, full size beds

I enjoyed teppan edo a lot!!! I just completed a cp in spring of 2016 and teppan edo was my go to restaurant to visit on my days off. The cast members are friendly and make your experience more smooth. I order the vegetarian dish and it is fabulous! 🙂 grilled red pepper, asparagus, and mushrooms and tofu if you prefer! the noodles they serve are great and the sauces are so good! Great restaurants for families or just a fun dining experience! It is a must do in any disney trip!

Pros:

generous portions, good with food allergies!

Cons:

lots of stairs

Review of River Belle Terrace Lunch/Dinner

We dined here for the Fantasmic package on 9/27. Our ADR was for 6:00pm, and we arrived a bit early. At check-in, I was asked which showtime we preferred our Fastpass for, and chose the later show (10:45pm). They asked if we had a preference of inside or outside seating, or if we were fine with next available table. We said next available was not a problem. There is a row of chairs near the check in podium to sit in while waiting. I was very thirsty, so walked next door to Stage Door Cafe to get some ice water. While I was gone, they seated my mom at a table outside, towards New Orleans Square.

That table actually would have been a decent spot to view Fantasmic from, as it was right on the railing. The dinner package has a limited menu to choose from, but we knew that ahead of time.

For appetizers, there is a choice of Salad or Soup (corn chowder). We both ordered the salad. It was fine, but just a salad. Nothing to rave about. Entrees consist of a steak/shrimp combo, chicken, or pasta. My mom had the New York Strip w/ Cajun Shrimp, and I had the Rosemary-Marinated Chicken Breast. Both dishes were served with mashed potatoes and broccolini. Neither of us had any complaints, and I loved the potatoes!

For dessert, we ordered one of each choice, the Chocolate Mousse Cake with Raspberry Sauce (comes with just a drizzle on the side) and the Caramel Apple Pie Streusel. I liked the pie a lot, but my mom wished there was a better ratio of raspberry to chocolate.

The service was good, but not outstanding. In the end, we did not even end up seeing Fantasmic, as we were so tired from our day of travel, and had been up since 3:30am EST. Therefore I cannot comment on the viewing for the show. This was a decent meal and probably the best option for seeing the show when accounting for price and central viewing area. Since we arrived at the park late in the day, I do not know if there were even general Fastpasses left for Fantasmic at that time.

Pros:

Seated early, choice of Fantasmic showtimes

Cons:

Flies due to Outdoor location

Hubby and I ate here because we could get right in and eat at the bar. Great place to sit and people watch since the bar overlooks the walking path of Disney Springs.
It is Cuban food - that's what the bartender said. I had the chicken burrito (Burrito - Flour tortilla, Sauteed seasonal vegetables, P37 cheese, fire roasted tomato con queso, Cilantro Rice, Chorizo Black Beans $15.99). It was so amazing. It could have had a little more chicken but the flavors were excellent!
Hubby had Baja Fish Tacos - crispy seasonal white fish, cabbage slaw, pico de gallo, P37 sauce, cilantro lime crema, tortilla salad $16.99. He loved them and it had large chunks of fish.
We shared the chips and salsa too (fire roasted tomato salsa, corn tortilla chips $3.99) - very good and flavorful!
I highly recommend this restaurant and would give it a 10, but the music is very loud.

Pros:

Atmosphere

Cons:

Really loud music

Review of Yak and Yeti Counter Service -- Anandapur Local Food Cafes

Tired of the standard burgers and chicken strips? Give Yak & Yeti a try. I was skeptical when I saw that it was Asian food, but so glad that we ate here. I had the Korean BBQ chicken that came with pineapple, green and red peppers, onions, chicken, with a sweet and sour BBQ sauce over it, served with white rice. Very good and large portion. Had Coke with it - only one size, and no lids are given and they use paper straws.
Hubby had the special of the day: Chicken curry - not offered on the menu. He loves curry and said it was really good.

Pros:

Tasty!

We stayed at POP Century, so AoA was just a walk across the bridge. We were happy with the many choices available here. We have 2 very picky eaters and 2 very adventurous eaters and this place was great. The picky eaters had plain burgers and I had indian food- paneer and spinach and acorn squash with curry chicken. My daughter had a Saffron seafood stew. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We would eat here again.

Like most food courts, the pace was busy and hectic. Service was good and there was plenty of seating.

Pros:

great variety, indian food

Cons:

busy

This was my first time here and I was quite pleased. I got the shrimp tempura udon and loved it. Shrimp was crispy and the noodle bowl was fantastic. I swear I have dreams of those Udon noodles- best I have ever had.

The seating inside the restaurant is close quarters, you are so close to other diners it isn't very relaxing. Next time I will sit outside. I think this area of Epcot is the most beautifully themed in the park.

Pros:

Udon noodles are wonderful, location is the prettiest in epcot

Cons:

close seating, not a lot of room inside the restaurant
