Review of Port Orleans Riverside Resort (Moderate Resort)

Let me start by saying that POR is gorgeous. It is such a quiet and peaceful resort. We were in bldg 18 which was close to main pool, food court, bus stop and private pool/laundry. Unfortunately, out of our party of 15, 10 people were sick while we were there. We are pretty sure it was the norovirus. We called housekeeping and asked for more trash bags and never received them. We actually had to ask our neighbors for bags. We had 3 rooms and all 3 rooms had this nasty stomach bug. They never offered to sanitize/clean our rooms at all. We had to have sheets and comforters cleaned and they just gave us new ones in a huge bag for us to make ourselves. We talked to several other guest and were told that so many people were sick at that hotel. That was really our only issue. We tried to clean the room because we were worried about the guest who were checking in after us. We were still sick the day we checked out.

The bus service was great. We never waited more than 10 minutes and almost everytime, we got seats or at least the little ones did. My 5 year old got sick on the bus and the bus driver was great.

The rooms are very nice. We were in Alligator Bayou section. My only complaint was the drawer space. They have the pull down bed which was a nice size, but becuase of that, the drawers were tiny. We like to unpack and put the suitcases away, but we had to keep our clothes in the suitcases.

The food at the food court was good. They could change it up a little. Maybe like every few days, add something different to the menu. The pasta station and create your salad were a hit with our group.

I would stay here again. I still prefer POFQ because of the smaller size, but we would not hesitate to stay at POR.

Pros:

beautiful, bus service

Cons:

Review of T-Rex

We love Rainforest Cafe so we thought we enjoy T-Rex. It does not matter if you have reservations, you will still have to wait. You could barely walk inside T-Rex because of the crowds. It was so loud, you had to almost scream to talk to the person across from you. Our waiter literally threw the napkins for our drinks at us. I think he was just having a bad day, because he did end up being very nice. Maybe he had a rude guest right before our table sat down. The food was not that great. I barely ate my salad. Nobody really cared for their food that much. We just wanted to get out of there. If we do ever try it again, it will be right at opening.

Pros:

atmosphere

Cons:

food and noise

Review of Tony's Town Square Lunch/Dinner

We heard good reviews on Tony's so we decided to give it a try. I have to say, we were really disappointed. Our waitress was rushing us. Our food was just ok. Nothing great. Maybe we just went at a bad time, but I don't think we would go back. Our selections were spaghetti, chicken parm and steak. The steak was so small, even the waitress made a comment about it. Personally, I don't think it's worth the money.

We have been here several times and always enjoy it. This time was much different.

We ordered an appetizer and our meals. Our waiter brought plates out, but no napkins or silverware. Assumed it was coming, but not until we asked. He came over to sell us a discount card (thought that was weird), so had enough time to get us napkins and silverware.

Meals came out before the appetizer arrived. They said they would bring everything out fresh and new later. Our waiter came back and asked when we would like our meals (the appetizer arrived about 5 minutes before his visit). I asked for 10 more minutes. The meals arrived about 2 seconds after he left. The salad I ordered was gross. There was feta cheese in it that was the size of golf balls instead of small pieces...really strange. Ate hardly any of it.

It was my son's birthday, so it was a special one (his choice of restaurant). I think he still enjoyed his big drink and dinasour nuggets...but a very poor service experience and it was soooo expensive for what we got.

I hope not to return!

Review of Disney's Boardwalk Inn Concierge Level

Overall, our stay was a huge disappointment. We checked out of the club level at Wilderness Lodge (great experience), then arrived at Boardwalk Inn a little after 1:00 pm. We were NOT met at the entrance, but wandered around in the lobby until someone (not club level staff) asked if we needed help. He snagged a club level person passing by and asked him to escort us to the club level checkin. He didn't seem to be too happy about having to do this. Sigh...

Well, we spent the next 2 hours in the Innkeeper's Lounge because a room wasn't ready for us. THEN, although we had requested a Deluxe Room on the same level as the Club because of mobility disability, we were given a Deluxe Room on the 3rd floor. They insisted there was nothing else available. I can't begin to describe how exhausting this was when we wanted to visit the Innkeeper's Lounge. The room was very nice though. All I can say is...NEVER AGAIN!!

Review of Polynesian Village Resort (Deluxe Resort)

We (3 adults 1 child)stayed at the Polynesian Feb 26th-March 4th. We loved it! We stayed in the Aotearoa long house. The room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. We had specifically requested a monorail view as we had a 2 year old that loves trains. Even though we could see the monorail it was still a peaceful and tranquil setting looking out our patio. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful and everyone was so eager to help with anything we needed. Mousekeeping was also very friendly and always talked to and said Aloha to us. The Great Ceremonial House is one of my favorite parts of the resort and we just sat in there and just listened to the waterfall. The pools were also very nice especially the little kiddie pool for our traveling 2 year old. It was not as packed full of kids like the volcano pool and it was very quiet and peaceful. At night the resort was very beautiful and beautifully lit with tiki torches. We even would walk to the TTC just to enjoy the scenery. This was our first time staying at a resort on the monorail line and I can honestly say we will probably never stay at another resort again. It was so easy and convenient and we never had to wait more than a few minutes for a monorail. The Kona Cafe in the Poly is also a great restaurant. We had breakfast there and the food was delicious! We didn't have reservations but that wasn't a big problem as they accept walk-ins and we only had to wait maybe 20 min but we didn't mind because there was plenty to look at and the furniture is so comfortable in the great ceremonial house that we didn't mind waiting. The only thing we didn't really prefer was Captain Cook's. There wasn't a wide variety of quick service choices and there was never enough seating during "rush" times. Other than that I would highly recommend anyone stay here if given the chance. We are actually coming back the week before Thanksgiving this year and have requested the same long house. It will definitely be hard to stay anywhere else from now on.

Pros:

Pretty much everything

Cons:

Captain Cook's

Review of Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House (Deluxe Resort)

We just returned from a February break 5 day stay at AKL and overall the resort was fine. The lobby is great and the pool and overlook areas were fine for the kids. Mara offered a good selection of food and the bus service was timely.

However, after staying at the Beach Club in August we felt the AKL was definitely lacking with respect to Beach Club. For one the rooms were much smaller so our family of 4 was very cramped. There were extra dressers at Beach Club as well as a desk and day bed. At AKL there was no desk, small dresser or day bed. The bathroom shower area was cramped and difficult to get in and close the door with any room. There was a lack of dresser space to unpack in and generally we felt cramped. Mousekeeping never left any animal towels which was a disappointment. Our room was a pool view on the bottom floow near the fitness center and was hard to find at first. The pool was nice but the deck was smaller and crowded. Mara was good but hours could be later. The gift shop was large and definitely better than Beach Club. The savanna overlooks were fine but we had expected bigger areas. I am glad we did not pay for a savanna view room as it would not have been worth it given the number of animals we saw.

Overall this is a nice hotel; however, I likely would not visit again as its off the beaten path and the Epcot area resorts are much closer to everything access wise. It was nice but again below what we expected room size wise. Beach Club area just can't be beat.

Pros:

Pool, Mara, Overall Grounds

Cons:

Room size, mousekeeping
