My mother typically is diabetic and eats mainly vegan. We ate here 4 times during our stay. Lots of fresh & healthy options that everyone in the family enjoyed. A lot of the entrees were far better than the majority of sit down restaurants.

Pros:

healthy& fresh eating

Cons:

need more seating

Review of Disney's Polynesian Resort Concierge Level

We visited May 4-11 2013 in celebration of our anniversary. We found the cast members to be very welcoming and hospitable, always greeting us when we entered or exited the building. When cast member Holli discovered we had not been given real flower leis for our anniversary, she had two custom-made for us and personally delivered them.

The new room decor is lighter and more contemporary. The beds are very comfortable! The bathroom has been reconfigured and now has two sinks and illuminated mirrors. The bath tile is beige(no more dark green)and the soap does not stick to it (definite improvement!)

Our mousekeeper kept us well stocked with towels and amenities. We received four different towel animals during our stay. Nightly turn-down service always included plenty of chocolates.

Continental breakfast offerings were very similar each morning as were the afternoon snacks. Evening appetizers changed daily and there was a nice variety of beers, wine and cordials.

The two-story lounge has stellar views of the beach, Magic Kingdom, fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant.

Our club level experience would have been a perfect 10 if not for the behavior of unsupervised or undisciplined children running and yelling in the halls and on the stairs; touching the food with their hands and taking more than they could possibly eat; intentionally messing up the tables; and being rude to the food servers. I had read similar complaints before of unruly children in the Poly lounge, but didn't believe it until we experienced it.

Since we are WDW vets and do our own trip planning, we did not utilize the concierge services available to us. The upcharge for staying club level is worth it for a special occasion, but we will go back to being "regular" Poly guests.

Pros:

Newly refurbished rooms; location and views

Cons:

undisciplined children in the lounge area

Stayed in DVC timeshare - everything was great - only con was really crowded pool area - not much room to walk around - pool chairs bump up close to pool's edge -
Maintenance did enter our room while we were out to do some type of repair (not requested by us) and left all the curtains open, etc. (we were on ground floor - anyone could walk by & see our belongings) - Upon returning we immediately noticed that someone had been in the room - complained to management & they were very apologetic - overall very nice hotel - would stay her again

Pros:

good rooms + restaurants+ proximity to Epcot

Cons:

crowded pool area - maintenance entering room

Review of Disney's QUICK SERVICE Dining Plan

If traveling without children, would not recommend this plan. We spent less money dining freely wherever we wanted and didn't have to worry about using dining credits on meals/snacks that we didn't really want, but were obligated to use points. Refillable mug has gotten smaller over the years and became more of a hassle to walk from pool to beverage area to fill up.

Always eat here when @ WDW - good value on quick service plan - only complaint is lack of seating to accommodate large crowds - becomes a competition to get seating - not a fan of being stalked by other guests waiting for us to leave our table -

Pros:

good food - quick service

Cons:

lack of seating

Food & service is good - dining area needs to be updated - seemed older, somewhat dingy - for Disney's flagship resort, the fact that they have the arcade right in the dining area is appalling! Very loud - distracts kids as you are trying to get them to eat - need to house arcade games in another area to allow for more seating options & relaxing dining environment (often too hot or too many birds around to eat outside) Was pleasantly surprised with take out pizza -

Pros:

food is good

Cons:

atmosphere

Always go here when @ Epcot - since they made it 2 credits will not go here - not worth 2 credits - plenty of comparable restaurants with good steaks elsewhere on property that are only 1 credit (Turf Club @ Saratoga comes to mind)

Pros:

good food

Cons:

2 dining credits

I did the Expedition Everest Challenge as a solo participant while my friend and husband were entered as a team. Despite registering at different times we were all assigned the same gate. My husband and I are not fitness gurus however we did do exercise in preparation for the 5k, which ended up being a 4.8mile run for us rather then 3.1. Let me explain, the 5k portion which included leaping over hay bails, strattling through tires and crawling under a cargo net was 3.1 miles, however it is followed by a scavenger hunt and since we din't receive a lot of info on how the timing would occur we felt pressured to run and complete that portion quickly as well and that was almost an additional 2.0 miles. The event was fun, and we were glad we did it, however to do it again we would have accepted out 5k run time and just paced ourselves through the scavenger hunt. The after party was a dud for us, while we did ride Dinosaur with no wait the booze selections for purchase were only Bud products and a premixed margarita, in hind sight we could have gotten back to the lodge and had a better time at the hotel bar. As a side note, transportation form the Lodge was a train wreck, we were told we had to be there at 9:15 for 10:00 start but the Mears drivers seemed to think they had until 10:00 to get everyone there. Good News some Managers and Cast Members stepped in and started using Disney trasportation to get the masses to the starting line.

Pros:

Fun and good for you

Cons:

to long for beginners
