Review of Be Our Guest Dinner

I booked a dinner reservation 180 days in advance for a special occasion. While I enjoyed the dinner very much, I felt the value for the money wasn't great, you're paying for the experience as much as the food.
To start with, the CMs manning the bridge are not the nicest about answering questions or letting you go to the entrance where there is seating unless your pager has gone off, at which point there's no need to sit outside any longer. I don't know if it was an off day for them, but it didn't make for a good introduction.
Once inside, things got better as our server was very nice, friendly, and professional.
The menu is extremely limited and could stand a few more options, but our server recommended the steak and we took his advice.
It was delicious, cooked exactly as we asked, and had a nice garlic butter on the side.
The kids' options were even more limited, but it's Disney, so we knew that going in and the children ended up picking things off the adults' plates as well.
I wasn't very interested in the dessert cart, but again at our server's recommendation, we tried the grey stuff and very much enjoyed it. I would go back for that alone.
Pros:
Service, atmosphere, steak and grey stuffCons:
Price, lack of varietyReview of Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

I was lucky enough to get seated here for dinner even without a reservation. They have a stand-by line for walk-ins that is opened or closed depending on how busy they are, and it closed soon after I got in.
I was a bit hesitant at first since I had read mixed reviews, but I had nothing to worry about. The pizza was great and just as good as my favorite neighborhood place. The large four cheese pizza was enough to share between three adults and a ten year old with some leftover. The mezzo metro would have been overkill.
Giorgia was our server and while she seemed nervous (she told us it was her first day), she was very sweet and pleasant in assisting us.
There's also an optional bread service that you can request and we did, but we found it lacking, the bread had the consistency of melba toast and the olive oil and butter for it never arrived.
The calamari appetizer made up for it though, it tasted fresh and crisp without being greasy. One of our party also had the red wine sangria and found it to be tasty and a generous portion.
We shared a tiramisu for dessert and while it was very nice, it was nothing to write home about. I would recommend the hazelnut or profiterole ice cream in France instead.
Overall I would recommend Via Napoli and look forward to going again.
Pros:
Great pizza and calamari!Cons:
Bit of a wait to get in.Review of Caribbean Beach Resort (Moderate Resort)

Having stayed at all of the moderates over the years, we decided to try a pirate room at the Caribbean, having not stayed there since around 2000 or so. Well, it hasn't changed. I have to say it is my least favorite moderate resort, with Coronado Springs being my absolute favorite due to the theming and feel of the resort, with both Port Orleans coming in second and third. Caribbean Beach is bland, especially considering its themed after somewhere so robust and alive as the Caribbean. The grounds are not as beautiful as the other moderates, and the whole look and feel lacks a special something, unlike the others. If you didn't tell me the resort was themed after the Caribbean, I would never had known. Our pirate room in Trinidad South was extremely quiet the first three or so days we were there, which was a blessing since the main pool was always noisy, especially with the staff doing some kind of kid's sing along thing which seemed constant. Our quiet pool was exactly that except for one afternoon which had a group of obnoxious unsupervised kids being loud. Pluses at the main pool are a pretty long slide compared to the others, and a second 'hidden' hot tub behind the main pool slide building, which I delighted in camping out one afternoon with no one else to bother me. Other nice touches are small beaches sprinkled here and there, more than the Coronado, so there are plenty of options to find a quiet one to yourself. The food court was nothing to brag about. I had a cuban sandwich which seemed to take forever to get, but it was pretty good, if not worth the steep price. If you try anything from the quick service, get a 'monkey cupcake', chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting with banana filling, it was so delicious, even though it fell apart when I ate it lol. The pirate room was very cool, however the mattresses on the beds were HARD. The theming was awesome though and it was nice to come home from a day at the parks to a Disney themed room, I loved it. We always request a certain type of room when we stay at Disney, and I must say this is the first time in awhile we were granted our request right off the bat (probably because Trinidad South was so deserted). A pleasant stay but there are other better choices in the moderate category.
Checking out was a problem, with our luggage. We took it to the main house to check in to our flight and so they could take the luggage, and they couldn't find our reservation. Very frustrating. So we took our luggage to the Polynesian, and they found our reservation right away no problem and allowed us to check our luggage with them . A negative ending to an otherwise pleasant stay.
Pros:
Quiet area in Trinidad SouthCons:

Ate here week of may 18, on dining plan. It is one of the most expensive buffets at DW. Ressies were for 7pm and waited at least 30 min. It was hot that day and we eventually went and stood inside. We were seated with another family of 3 adults. We are a family of 5 2 adult, 3 children. They rolled their eyes when they seen they would be sitting with us. They wanted to sit on the outside which made things difficult because my kids wanted to get up and down to get to the buffet and my dd5 wanted to go down front to dance with the band. She ended up not eating a thing because she wanted to dance so much. My kids are picky so they didn't eat a whole lot off of the buffet. I'll be honest my husband and I didn't either. We eat a lot of this food at home so it was nothing new to us. Our waiter took forever getting refills on drinks. My son and husband got the pint of beer but I could have had a pint of ice tea I was so thirsty. I kept asking for refills and our waiter finally brought them we were done with our meals and wanted our check. We ate here back in 2006 and enjoyed the atmosphere and thought we would try it again. the only positive thing was after our meal we walked right out to watch Illuminations. We then walked around the world while it was all lit up. We will probably not come back to Germany to eat.

ate here May 19, read the reviews and thought it would be different than other places. Had plenty of seating and while I sat at table the others went to order food. Food was okay nothing out of this world. desserts ok too. HS is lacking in the food department. We previously ate at ABC Commissary and really like it so might go back there next time
Pros:

We ate here May 18. this was our second visit. We had ressies for 5:50 and arrived early. When I was waiting in line to checkin several people in front of me didn't have a ressie and asked the wait. They were told 10 minutes. After I checked I thought it wouldn't be long. We waited 20 minutes and they had taken in people who just walked up without a ressie. I was not to happy. After we were seated we had an idea of what we wanted, however, our waiter seemed to be very busy and kept passing us up. After a while he eventually made his way to us and we put in our orders with appetizers. We had the dining plan but was paying OOP for this meal. since the menu is limited we got burgers. My dd5 asked for extra pickles. Our waiter joked with us and brought out a whole bowl of pickles for her which she ate. The food was good and satisfied us. We will probably not return here just because we want to explore other restaurants and since we always get the parkhopper we will utilize this next trip.

When I received the email that Sophia & Doc was going to be at HV I got online & scheduled the first date available. I got an 8:05 ressie. We arrived at HS early since it was extra magic hrs and was met with a large line. We made our way to check in to dining and waited some more. In MK they would let you in prior to your ressie and you were able to take pics etc. Not here at rope drope it was a mad dash to get to the restaurant.
We checked in and within 5 minutes was seated. I thought the place would be packed but it wasn't. There was a lot of seats available. Our waitress got our drinks and told us it would be about 10 minutes before the characters would be to our table and she explained all the food options and the flow of the characters. We took this time to go get our food and start to eat. Everything was fresh, hot, and good variety. Your typical buffet but did offer a yogurt station and several other items. My dd5 wore her Sophia dress and was surprised by this character breakfast. (it was a surprise). The characters were Jake, Sophia, Doc, Handy. they spent time and each table and then a times throughout our meal they would gather and dance, do sing a longs, and parade around the restaurant. My family enjoyed themselves. We were on the dining plan but paid OOP for this meal which was one of the cheapest, great value for the quality of food. A lot of people didn't know that they had Doc & Sophia, I think Allears need to update their site with the addition of the new characters

We ate here May 17, this was our second visit. The line was long but went quickly until it was our turn. Our party of 5 consisted of 2 meal plans so a person from each had to be there to order. The others went to find seating which can be a problem since this restaurant is so popular. My order consisted of the ribs/chicken combo and childs drumstick meal. We had the meal plan. After you ordered you moved to another window to pick up your food. This is where the problem started. The castmember had our order wrong and when I tried to correct her and tell her what was missing she argued back and started talking too fast so I couldn't understand her since her English was very broken. My son who works in food service tried to explain to her what was wrong with our order (we were missing our desserts and our drinks were wrong). After back and forth discussion another castmember came over since we were holding up the line and seen the error. They quickly corrected it and apologized. We found a nice shaded pavilion by the lake and the food was fantastic. Will eat here time and time again. I understand that castmembers can come from their native country and English can be difficult, but if you are working in customer service you should be able to articulate enough so that problems don't arise.

6/24/14 evening. Food ok for the price. The cashier was struggling with her English, but she was trying hard.
The server was like he didn't care if he was there or not. Not friendly at all. Never came back to ck on us. No tip because of the service. Next time go out to a local pizza place.

Our last visit was 6/21/14 thru 6/27/14. Family of 3 this year, our son opted out. We have stayed at FQ so many time and its just like home to us. Everything was great at resort. Check in was so easy. Magic Bands are a plus!!
Compared to other resorts we stayed at, it is just the right size. Life guard at the pool are great. They never seem to stop scanning the pool area.
The greater at the door is always nice & polite.
Check in was the best so far. Sorry I forgot her name but she is from New Jersey. Very nice young lady.
Only negative outside resort was Downtown Disney. There is a lot of construction going on and areas are closed of so it made it so crowded. I suggest you go in the morning or during the daytime hours. Beware the nighttime visits, its sooooo crowded!!!
Mouse keeping at the parks seem to be a little on the downside this year. Also you can tell when your not in a true Disney owned restaurant, (on property) not the same service with a smile that you expect. Getting too many outsider company's. But that's business I guess.
As for the Resort again, best on property. You wont be disappointed.
