My wife and I went for an anniversary dinner on Oct 10, 2014. Once we walked into the dining area we easily noticed it was loud and extremely cramped. We were basically involved in conversations with the couples sitting on either side of us by sitting so close to each other. The Filet my wife ordered was excellent, perfectly cooked the way she wanted. The Pork dish I ordered (cost $40) had barely any substance to it. Basically two bite sized portions for $40 left me hungry, I was extremely disappointed and both of us decided we will NOT be coming back. We really looked forward to a nice dinner and romantic atmosphere, but were utterly let down. Bypass this restaurant unless they cut their prices in half. Here, you don't get what you pay for at all.

We got to the restaurant about 20 minutes before we were scheduled to check in. Checked in anyway, and were told to wait for a photo with Donald and then we would be seated. 45 minutes later, and 3 very grumpy kids, we got our photo and were rushed to do it since they came to seat us at the same time. Our photo is terrible, and we were not given an opportunity to take another.
Once inside, we were asked about food allergies. This was already in the ADR that I had made so I was a little annoyed. Yes... we have a salt restricted diet and a severe soy allergy.
Chef came out, young kid for the most part, and told me that with a soy allergy I should already know what I can and can't eat at the buffet, and that he would bring me my own waffles. As for the salt free, he said there was nothing he could really do for her except eggs that were made with no salt. Needless to say, my mom ended up sick due to salt content in the food and I got undercooked gluten free, soy free waffles that were gross (had them the day prior at another location and they were fantastic). If the character interaction once in side the restaurant had been less than is was then I would have walked out personally.
Do I recommend this restaurant, only to those who do not have any sort of food allergies or intolerance.

Good character interaction, lots of food choices if you do not have issuesCons:

We went for lunch and while the desserts were good, the main meals were not. Sandwiches were premade and were not of the quality we expected. Chicken was bland. Portions sizes were huge.
Pros:
Some variety, desserts are goodCons:

The food was good, but I wish there were more choices for dessert. Entertainment was great but I wished it lasted a little longer.

We ate a on very hot sunny day. We loved the food. Generous portions. Nicely done fish not greasy. You are given a number to take to your table and they serve you. However, very few seats indoors. Had to sit outside in the courtyard of the Hole in the Wall bar. Nice bar, but very expensive. Courtyard is hot with very little shade. We will definitely go again.

I recently returned from a 5-day stay in a studio room in the Turtle Pond section of the resort. I found this resort to be very beautiful. I like the pastel gingerbread-style look of the houses. I found the transportation within the complex to be very convenient. The complex is large and the walk to the hospitality house would be lengthy, but I was able to jump on any bus and the last stop before leaving the resort was the hospitality house. Since the first bus stop was a short walk, being able to utilize the Disney buses was a plus. The studio room was larger than the rooms at the deluxe resort, I liked having a kitchenette setup and used it daily. I have stayed at many of the Disney resorts and Old Key West is by far my favorite. The only downside is that the quick service area is too small with few offerings, but if that's the only shortcoming that's OK by me.
Pros:
Beautiful landscape, quiet, internal transportationCons:

We love to get the to go meal consisting of 10 piece of fried chicken, 2 sides, and corn bread. The chicken is delicious, and while the sides are good, the only choices are mashed potatoes, fries, and macaroni and cheese. I really wish they offered green beans, okra, or some other veggie. Our family of 5 can easily fill up on the meal, and for that price it's the best deal to be had at Disney! We are locals, so we just bring paper plates and water bottles, then head over to the campfire to enjoy smores with Chip and Dale.
