we stopped here for lunch, just by chance because we were all hungry and our ADR for dinner was late in the day. It ended up to be one of our favorites. We had the fish, shrimp and chicken platter, the portions are huge! Def enough to share. The strawberry lemonade slushy was amazing too. Yes, it was crowded, but we didn't have trouble finding a seat. It was nice and cool in there. And even though it is sort of self service, we didn't mind at all.

Pros:

Huge portions, great food

Cons:

no restroom inside, you have to leave the building and go around to another building.

Review of Sci-Fi Dine-in Theatre Lunch/Dinner

The atmosphere is super fun and cool. The kids loved sitting in "cars" and watching the films. It really is dark inside, and it feels like the drive in, which is of course the whole point. Our waitress was not super friendly and she only came to check on us one time. However at the end of the meal, she brought out a cupcake for our grandsons birthday?! It was very busy when we visited so maybe she was just overwhelmed. The food was ok. In fact, we had lunch earlier at ABC commissary and food there was much better. I am glad we ate here at least once though because the kids really enjoyed the theme. I probably would not go back.

Pros:

Theme, atmosphere, drinks were good. Nice to visit with children at least once.

Cons:

very dark, service unpredictable, food just ok Most likely a once and done type of meal, a not a must do each visit.

Our group of 10 visited for lunch. This is now on our must visit list. It was one of our favorites! There is such a variety of food options, and everything was so good. It was fun to try new things as well as all the standard items on a buffet. The characters all visited our table at least once. We had ADR, and it was busy but we were seated right away. Our server explained how our ROL dining package works and was very attentive and patient with us.

Pros:

food, atmosphere, cast members, characters

Cons:

none

Review of Pongu Pongu - Pandora

We visited twice, my husband & I grabbed a snack while the big kids rode FOP. I did not care for the Pongu Lumpia. The filling was good, but the outside was soft which made the whole thing sort of mushy. I wish the wrapper had a more crispy texture. We also shared a sausage biscut, which was hard and dry. Later in the day we stopped for drinks and a snack. The colossal pretzel was very good, it was huge and just enough for our group to share. We all loved the Night Blossom and the Rum Blossom, the flavor was refreshing and we enjoyed passion fruit bobo balls.
There is plenty of seating along the landscaping around the area . As well as a restroom nearby.

Pros:

Night Blossom (non-alcoholic) and Rum Blossom are so good! colossal pretzel is huge! I give these a 10 rating! Visit later, after breakfast

Cons:

Pongu Lumpia is too soft/mushy. Sausage biscut hard/dry

This is our second time staying Club Level at AKL. This experience at Christmas in 2018 was very good and much better than a few years ago. There were hot options at breakfast and cocktail hour. The staff were very helpful with providing food for our daughter with a food allergy. Everyone was very helpful in the lounge. I do wish the club level rooms were closer to the club area. We also had some problems with our room not being cleaned properly, which sort of messed up our first day. We saw many animals and loved the resort.

Pros:

Great food options and helpful planning ahead of arrival

Cons:

Rooms can be far from lounge

Review of Disney's DELUXE Dining Plan

I would do the deluxe dining plan again but you have to choose some two-credit signature restaurants otherwise it's too much food. My boyfriend and I used this for our December 2018 trip and we chose what we wanted - we didn't choose the most expensive items - and I still saved over $500. I wish Disney would let you use snack credits towards merchandise items as well. With so much food, we didn't need snack credits! You'll end up getting a lot to take home the last day you're there to use up those snack credits.

Pros:

Meals paid in advance

Cons:

Too much food - portion sizes are so huge as most restaurants, too many snack credits.

Review of Port Orleans French Quarter (Moderate Resort)

I visited from late Sunday night December 2nd and left the morning of Saturday December 8th. I traveled with my boyfriend and we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter. POFQ was great – my only minor complaints are #1 I wish the hotel pools/Jacuzzi would stay open later because by the time you come “home” from the parks they’re closed and #2 there was a cast member named Bero who used a dirty pen to remove the stickers from the tops of our reusable resort mugs. People drink out of these mugs and cast members should not be picking at the tops of them with pens! Other than that our experience was pleasant at POFQ. The older gentleman cast member who drove the boat back from Disney Springs one evening was very delightful and was singing songs. “Mousekeeping” keep the room tidy and I gave them a ponytail with a Disney bow on it each day inside a hand-written Disney princess thank-you card. I wish they would have done something “special” in return but they didn’t – I guess you don’t do towel animals anymore? The remodeled rooms are nice. The smaller close-up mirror in the bathroom area is appreciated. I just wish there was room between the toilets and showers to actually turn on the water before you get into the shower. I’m not a large person and I like turning on the water before I get in to make sure it’s the right temperature – and that was a challenge trying to do so. The door covering the refrigerator was already broken as it didn’t close all the way. We stayed in building three on the first floor.

Pros:

Smallest resort on Disney property, decent food court, boat to Disney Springs, nice rooms, "mousekeeping" good but no towel animals

Cons:

No room between toilet and shower to turn on water before stepping inside, cast member Bero used a pen to remove the stickers on our refillable mugs

My boyfriend and I had dinner here on Friday December 7, 2018. Dinner was very good. They don't give bread rolls for free here but you can order them as an appetizer and they're very good. Good service and food. It's a little too dark inside the restaurant though.

Pros:

Good service & food

Cons:

Very dark inside

Review of 'Ohana Best Friends Character Breakfast

Expensive if not on dining plan. Two adults for breakfast is over $80! My boyfriend and I ate here on Monday December 3rd, 2018. POG juice is very good and I appreciate the Lilo & Stitch characters as they're harder to find in the parks nowadays. Just be forewarned that when we left breakfast the line for the monorail was ENORMOUS so luckily I knew you could leave the Polynesian by boat also. The line extended from the monorail entrance all the way back to Ohana!

Pros:

Stitch, POG juice

Cons:

Long line for monorail when you leave, expensive if not on dining plan
