When we’re at Disney World, the My Disney Experience app is a lifesaver. Where else can you check ride wait times, mobile order snacks, and find the closest restroom all in one place?

However, the app will look totally different soon. Disney just announced that they’re massively updating the My Disney Experience app with dozens of brand-new features!
Firstly, the homepage in the My Disney Experience app will be completely redesigned. The redesigned version will bring trip details, reservations, travel parties, and planning reminders into one place. Disney hasn’t shared the new app layout since it’s still under development, but it’s sure to look totally different!

Disney will also add a new Trip Checklist feature. It’s designed to help guests keep track of everything they need to do before arrival, including reminders for Lightning Lane booking windows, dining reservations, resort online check-in, ticket setup, and adding tickets to your phone’s wallet app. Disney executives hope the checklist will help guests feel “prepared, confident, and ready for arrival.” This will be an amazing feature for first-time Disney guests!

Disney will also introduce a new Smart Search feature. Disney said guests are increasingly searching with full questions, not short keywords as intended, so the updated search system will use AI-generated summaries to answer questions directly in the app. Disney did not confirm which AI systems will power the feature, but stated that AI is being used to simplify planning and surface information more quickly.

Lastly, the redesigned app will make Trip Sharing easier. Currently, linking plans can involve invitation emails and several manual steps. Disney said the new process will work by sharing a link via text message. A guest will also be able to select someone directly from their contacts and send them a link that connects their accounts for shared trip planning. This makes it easier to book Lightning Lanes, dining reservations, and virtual queues for groups!

In addition, Disney announced that the My Disney Experience app will soon be supported in both English and Spanish. This is the first time the app has been supported in multiple languages!

We’re so excited to see what the redesigned My Disney Experience app will look like. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney World news!
