Some big changes just arrived in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park!

On April 29th, the land was updated to begin including Star Wars moments and characters from ALL stages of the canon. Yes, that means your favorite original trilogy characters are now roaming the land! With that update, people were turning out in droves to see the new Star Wars vibes, and we’re here to report the wild crowds to you.
Throughout the day, we saw wild levels of crowding in Galaxy’s Edge. Particularly in the areas where the new characters were greeting folks, there were lines of people multiple rows deep trying to grab a photo or video.

Walking around the land wasn’t much better. Most of the seating was taken up all day long, and groups of people were gathered around main areas like the rides, dining options, and shops.

For some characters, we had to wait through multiple listed set times to get a good view. Merchandise lines were also rather popular, as new Star Wars items dropped in some of the shops.

Crowds started to thin out a bit later on in the day, after each new character had been out a few times and everyone had checked off their Star Wars must-dos. At that point, we noticed crowds dispersing to other areas of the park.

Those same people started to fill up the walking spaces in Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and other main areas of the park later on. This was Fantasyland in the afternoon.

We have a feeling Galaxy’s Edge is going to be very popular for a few days or weeks after this change. We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop if we notice anything out of the ordinary, so subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media.
