Progress Is Moving FAST for the New Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

We’re gearing up for a fully reimagined land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it’s taking us back to the origins of the park!

Hollywood Studios

Animation Courtyard closed in 2025 to become Walt Disney Studios, and it’s going to include some exciting additions, like a new Disney Jr. show and an entire attraction themed to Disney Animation. So how’s the construction going? We’ve got an aerial look!

Twitter/X user @bioreconstruct shared aerial photos of the construction happening in the former Animation Courtyard, and things seem to be moving along quickly. The Walt Disney Studios courtyard is set to open on May 26th.

Also opening May 26th is the new show, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! This will replace the old Disney Jr. Dance Party show (which had a few variations before it closed). You can see work being done in the courtyard where you enter this theater in the bottom left corner of the photo below.

The Magic of Disney Animation will open in late summer in the former home of Star Wars Launch Bay. This building will be topped with a model of the Sorcerer Mickey hat and will mimic the design of the animation studio in Burbank. Painting and exterior refurbishment is already underway.

Much of the courtyard has been torn up and it looks like concrete has already been repoured for several sections. New trees and foliage are being added as well to make this a more lush, inviting space. We can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s open!

We’ll keep you in the loop in the coming months with the changes.
