Got a Disneyland trip planned for 2026? First of all, we’re jealous, but second, Disney just announced some BIG ride refurbishments that you need to know about.

Disneyland recently announced a pretty sweet discount for those looking to stay at the resort’s hotels, and the resort just announced the special events coming to the parks in 2026 as well. Now there’s even MORE news to cover, but we don’t think people are going to be as happy about this — there are FOUR attractions that just had closures announced for 2026.
The worst part? Well, all of these closures are happening in January, AND we don’t have an end date for any of them.
Disney California Adventure
Starting on January 5th, 2026, Grizzly River Run will close in Disney California Adventure, but this refurbishment isn’t unexpected. This ride typically closes for a short time each winter for its annual refurbishment, as it is a water attraction. We expect to see it back open a few weeks after the beginning of its closure, but there’s no official reopening date on the calendar at this time.

Incredicoaster is also closing on January 5th, 2026, and there’s no anticipated reopening date at this time. Now, this one is more of a heavy hitter, as not only is it one of the most popular rides in the park, but it’s one of the few roller coasters in the whole resort. We can really see people missing this while it’s under refurbishment, so we’re hoping the closure is short.

The final closure happening in DCA is Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. It’ll close for refurbishment on January 5th, 2026, and, just like the others, there’s no reopening date on the calendar right now.

All of these rides closing in one park on one day is pretty significant, so we’re really crossing fingers they’ll all be short-lived.
Disneyland Park
Fortunately, there’s only one refurbishment closure happening in Disneyland Park, which is the Mark Twain Riverboat. It’ll close on January 12th, 2026, but like the others, no one knows when it’ll reopen (except for Disney — maybe).
