There’s one thing you shouldn’t underestimate on your Disney World trip, and that’s the HEAT. Central Florida gets hot, likely way hotter than you’re expecting, especially once you factor in the humidity. As someone who grew up in Las Vegas, I’m used to the heat, but an ounce of humidity makes me want to hide inside forever.

We found three items that our team loves to help beat the heat. While we would love it if all of Disney World were built inside, at some point, you have to deal with the heat, and these items keep us moving and grooving all day long.
First is this Backpack Ventilation Spacer.

We know it looks a little odd, but hang in there with us. It’s a little pricey, but it’s an investment in our sanity. The spacer fits on the straps of your backpack and allows for ventilation between your backpack and your back. You know how sweaty it can get when your backpack is directly on your back for hours on end? This tool lets breeze flow through and cool you down.

It also helps balance some of the weight in your backpack. I remember visiting Disneyland as a kid and my parents switching backpack duties back and forth, which was filled with all of our water bottles, jackets, pins, and more, and I’m sure they would have loved having something to balance out the weight.

At the end of using the spacer, we found our backs were less sweaty, and while our underarms were a little more sweaty due to the straps, it doesn’t compare to your entire back looking like you just got off Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when you haven’t even been on an attraction all day. Our team keeps using this and loves it every time.
Next, we have the Clip-On Waist Fan.

I’m someone who naturally runs hot and is always looking for an air vent blasting our AC when I go inside a restaurant. If you’re like me, this might be your solution! You can clip it onto your waistband or belt bag, and for $25, you have your own personal AC. It actually worked so well, we had to switch spots because we were getting cold!

For your cool air, you’ll have to carry a little more weight and listen to the quiet hum of the fan, but for our team, it was so worth it. There are three speeds, but we found we kept it on high so we could feel it on the hottest days.

We wear this on our belts, belt bags, and waistbands, and we’ll even hold it in our hands or set it on a table while we’re eating for a little extra refresh. One of our team members now calls it one of their best friends — you won’t find them in the park without it! We love how it’s well-made and can drop it without instant damage. I don’t know who came up with this genius idea, but they deserve a prize for saving our Disney World days.
Last up, we have the Sun Hat with Fans.

We know it looks a little silly, but we will literally do anything to relieve the heat in Florida. One of our favorite features was that there were two fans, so you could have both on or alternate between them. You can also pop them out to charge them or slide them into your backpack for later.

This hat is also, well, a hat! It has a wide brim to protect you from the sun (don’t forget your sunscreen!) and help cool you down. The fans can be charged via cable or solar power. With the fans on, it’s great to use inside when you just can’t find that perfect amount of AC, and you can’t seem to cool down.

Not only were we rocking it, but we saw others wearing it, so we felt like we were in a cool club. It did struggle taking in the super hot air, but this, paired with the waistband fan and possibly cooling towels, will help you enjoy your vacation without worrying about overheating.
