If you’re planning on celebrating Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World, there are a few things you need to know about. These include where to eat, what to eat, and even what to wear. Also, we’ve got some bad news if you’re staunchly “Turkey Before Tree.”

Over my 30+ years visiting Disney theme parks, I’ve seen the Holiday Season surpass spring break and even summer to become arguably the most popular time of the year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. In fact, Christmas at the resort has become so popular that by the time Halloween ends, almost all of Walt Disney World is full-blown decorated for Christmas. However, that can sometimes make it feel like Thanksgiving can get somewhat lost in the shuffle. However, Turkey Day fans shouldn’t fret. There are still plenty of ways to spend Thanksgiving at the “Most Magical Place on Earth.”
The Best Disney Thanksgiving… Just Remember Stretchy Pants
The Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Tree Tavern’s menu is essentially a Thanksgiving menu all year round, so of course, it’s arguably the most in-demand Thanksgiving meal at the resort.

The main course is the $45 per-person all-you-care-to-enjoy Patriots Platter, which offers roasted turkey, pot roast, and smoked pork loin with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herbed stuffing, and house-made macaroni & cheese.

The restaurant also offers plant-based meals, and the meal includes salad and the Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake dessert. Certainly more than filling enough for a Thanksgiving meal, but remember to bring your stretchy pants and most comfortable hoodie, as you’ll likely leave STUFFED and bloated in the best way.

Same Food, Easier Reservation
If you have trouble getting a reservation for the in-demand Liberty Tree Tavern, try for their sister restaurant, The Diamond Horseshoe.

While the Western-themed eatery doesn’t offer the same Thanksgiving-appropriate colonial setting as Liberty Tree Tavern, the restaurant, which shares kitchen facilities with the Liberty Tree Tavern, offers the SAME Thanksgiving-themed menu as Liberty Tree Tavern, and reservations are usually much easier to get.

“Traditional” Appetizers
While the Liberty Tree Tavern and Diamond Horseshoe offer ”traditional” Thanksgiving foods, there’s no rule saying other Magic Kingdom favorites like Cheeseburger Spring Rolls or Corn Dog Nuggets can’t count as Thanksgiving appetizers.

Thanksgiving With “Mom”
If the act of eating Thanksgiving dinner with family is more important to you than the food itself, then perhaps you might want to make a dinner reservation at the ’50s Prime Time Cafe.

While the Hollywood Studios restaurant doesn’t offer classic Thanksgiving foods, its menu features comfort foods like pot roast, fried chicken, and meatloaf.

It’s the theme of eating in mom’s kitchen with the server all being cousins can definitely help with homesickness.

Double Holiday
While the aforementioned “Turkey Before Tree” guests may not want to hear it, celebrating Thanksgiving in the midst of Christmas decorations is essentially celebrating the whole Holiday Season at once!

Keep these “rules” in mind if you’re spending Turkey Day at the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Stay tuned to AE for more on the Holidays at Disney World.
