Universal Orlando Adds ANOTHER Ride to Its List of Closures

Heads up, Universal Orlando fans! There are a few different refurbishments coming to rides in 2026, but now ANOTHER has been added to the list.

Revenge of the Mummy

If you’ll be traveling to Universal Studios, you likely already know about the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit demolition (and we’re not quite sure what it’ll become just yet), but now, another coaster in the park will be down for the count for a brief time in January 2026.

Universal just added a refurbishment to their list, and it’s best you know about it ASAP. Revenge of the Mummy in Universal Studios will be CLOSED for refurbishment from January 15th-21st, 2026. Universal hasn’t shared what this refurbishment is for, but our assumption is just regular maintenance.

Revenge of the Mummy is a high-speed roller coaster that takes you forward and backward on the track as you rush to erase the Mummy Imhotep. Just when you think you may have escaped, you’re forced to think again as you dive into a black abyss. It’s intense, spooky, and we feel it’s not the best fit for younger riders, unless they love horror films or scary things.

Spooky!

This isn’t the only refurbishment scheduled for this park next year, as the Hogwarts Express, which runs between Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios and requires park-to-park admission to access, will be closed for a refurbishment from February 9th to 23rd.

Additionally, there are more closures scheduled for Islands of Adventure throughout the end of this year and all of next year that you should know about. Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls is currently closed for a minor refurbishment through October 31st, 2025. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey will be closed November 10th-20th, 2026, and finally, Jurassic Park River Adventure will be unavailable for nearly the WHOLE year as it undergoes a big reimagining. It’ll be closed from January 5th to November 19th, 2026.
