We have tested hundreds of pairs of shoes for Disney World!

From sandals to pricey sneakers, there have been some big hits and big misses for our poor feet. Despite the price point, a huge majority of our team agrees that HOKA Shoes are some of the best shoes for surviving the parks. That makes this news even more disappointing.
If you haven’t heard of Hokas, you’re about to hear all about them! These tennis shoes have been super popular over the last few years despite their high price point. That’s because the quality and support really make these shoes worth it on our daily walks and vacations to Disney World and beyond.

If you’re a fan of this brand, or were considering trying a pair for the first time, we’re sad to say the price on these popular shoes is about to go up. According to TheStreet, Deckers Outdoor, the parent company of HOKA, is under pressure to raise the sneaker’s price. This pressure derives from recent tariff initiatives, which have raised import taxes from 2.4% to 17.4% since January 2025.

Deckers Outdoor also owns brands like Ugg and TEVA, so you can expect a higher price on these popular brands as well. Deckers Outdoor manufactures its shoes in China and Vietnam, much like Nike and Adidas, which could also be impacted by the tariffs. Tariffs on Chinese imports are currently set at 30% and Vietnam’s tariffs are set at 20%.

The tariffs are expected to have a $200 million impact on Deckers Outdoor in 2025 alone. Deckers’ Chief Financial Officer Stephen Fasching warned shoppers that the company plans to offset the $200 million by raising the price on its shoes, which officially started in July. Fasching said, “We implemented selective initial price increases, which went into effect on July 1. One of our mitigating levers is price adjustments.”

In May 2025, Nike’s CFP Matthew Friend confirmed that Nike will also be increasing its prices beginning in Fall 2025. He also confirmed the tariffs will reduce the company’s gross margins by 1% and increase costs by $1 billion. The Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America President Matt Priest confirmed that footwear prices have jumped by 1.4% and women’s shoes specifically have spiked 2.8% more.

We won’t know exactly how much shoe prices will increase just yet, but Fasching noted many products have seen a $5 increase already, and that many new and existing products will see additional increases. We’re hoping our current tennis shoes start lasting a bit longer now! As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more news and updates.
