If you love cruising as much as we do, there’s some news about travel advisories you need to know about.

Vacationing on a cruise ship often takes you to great tourist destinations that many people wouldn’t otherwise get to visit. Whether it’s the Bahamas, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, or beyond, it’s a great way to travel and one of our favorites, especially if we get to go on a Disney Cruise Line. However, if you’re planning to travel soon, two new travel advisories have been raised to a level you should be aware of before you leave.
Two travel advisories have been raised to Level 2 by the U.S. Department of State: Thailand and Cambodia.

Both were updated on July 25th, and Level 2 warnings indicate travelers should exercise increased caution when traveling. For Cambodia, the “unrest” indicator was added, and it’s not advised to travel to areas along the Cambodian and Thai border due to armed conflict. A further breakdown of the advisory based on areas of the country is:
- Phnom Penh: Exercise increased caution due to Street crime, particularly phone and bag snatchings
- Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Pursat, Siem Reap, Pailin, and Kampong Thom provinces: Landmines and unexploded ordnance have been found in remote areas

Regarding Thailand, the Level 2 advisory is also due to unrest along the Cambodian and Thai borders, stemming from ongoing armed conflict. However, the U.S. Department of State also states that “Periodic violence between Thai security services and armed insurgents has been known to occur in Thailand’s three southernmost provinces of Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat. Seventeen districts in these provinces remain under a declared state of emergency due to ongoing violent conflict. There is a collateral risk of violence for U.S. citizens in Thailand’s southernmost provinces due to low-intensity conflict.”
