NEWS: A Disney World Hotel Pool Is Now CLOSED for Refurbishment

It’s a scorcher out there right now at Disney World, and if you ask us, that’s the perfect time to plan a pool day at your hotel!

It’s a great way to break up your vacation and take advantage of everything your hotel has to offer — along with getting in some rest and relaxation. We know, relaxing at Disney World?! But, it can be done! You just won’t be able to do it at one pool in particular, right now…

Heads up if you’ve got an upcoming stay planned at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort! As of July 29th, the Barbados Leisure Pool is closed for refurbishment.

According to the Disney World website, the Barbados pool will be closed through September 2024, though an official reopening date has not yet been announced. We stopped by Caribbean Beach to see what was going on and confirmed that the pool was blocked off.

We couldn’t see much of anything happening at the pool itself, but we did spot a worker who appeared to be doing some sort of work related to this closure.

Luckily, if you’re staying at Caribbean Beach, you have more pool options to choose from! There’s the large, main Fuentes del Morro pool you can still use, along with the other smaller pools located in each “village” or section of this hotel.

We also confirmed that Caribbean Beach is now requiring wristbands for guests to enter the Fuentes del Morro pool. We’ll let you know when the Barbados pool is scheduled to reopen!
