Disney’s Pop Century Resort is the cheapest of the Disney World Skyliner Resorts.

This hotel is one of Disney’s value resorts, meaning it doesn’t have as many amenities as others, but wow if it isn’t detailed! Here are 6 reasons we think you should take the Skyliner over to Pop Century, even if you aren’t staying there, during your next Disney World vacation.
Theming
One thing that really makes this resort stand out is the incredible theming. Pop Century is themed to the decades, meaning different sections of the resort have larger-than-life statues of Disney characters and/or popular items from that decade.

For those of us who were born or grew up in one of these decades, it’s a fun walk down memory lane. Especially if you have to describe to your kids what some of the items are!

They’re also incredibly fun to take photos with. And as much as you’ll find in the parks, you won’t find anything quite like this.
Art of Animation is Right Next Door!
You can hit two hotels in a matter of minutes, because Art of Animation is, quite literally, right across the water. And if you step off the Skyliner station, it’s just to your left.

Art of Animation is also home to some amazing theming, featuring Cars, The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King. Your kids will LOVE it!

Even though you won’t be able to swim in the pool, you can still walk into the lobby and see more of the stunning design. Don’t forget to take even more pictures!
Shop For Resort-Specific Merchandise
While there’s lots of Disney merchandise you can find in the Disney parks, it’s unlikely you’ll find hotel merchandise unless you go to those hotels themselves! Since the theming of Pop Century is so fun, you can bet there are some great souvenirs to be found.

This includes things like water bottles, photo books, magnets, pins, and more. Plus, if you’re collecting Pressed Pennies, you’ll only be able to find hotel-specific pennies at their respective resorts.

Whether you’re collecting something from every resort without having to stay there, or just trying to commemorate your trip as a whole, stopping by Everything Pop! (the gift shop), is a must-do if you’re already at the resort.
Eat The Tie-Dye Cheesecake
There’s one dessert you can only find at Pop Century, and that’s the Tie-Dye Cheesecake.

Not only is this dessert super colorful and fun, but it’s also a fan-favorite, so it’s delicious too.

If you try it and love it as much as we do, you can even make it at home!
Play Giant Twister
Yes, you can play giant Twister, totally for free, at Pop Century!

This can be a great activity for anyone to take part in while they wander around the hotel. It’s the only hotel that has this particular activity, so if you’re looking to stretch and bend, get ready for a fun game.
Learn Trivia
Did you know that posts around Pop Century Resort have trivia about pop culture on them?

You can learn some really interesting facts from many decades past that you can use to surprise your friends and family when you get home.

What’s a Disney trip without a little bit of learning, right?
The Skyliner Is an Attraction on Its Own!
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again — the Skyliner is a Disney ride in its own right! Since Pop Century’s Skyliner Station is not a hub like Caribbean Beach’s Station, you can take it there and back from that hub.

Not only do you get amazing views from the Skyliner, but it will have a much shorter wait for most of the day than other attractions inside the parks. The views coming in and out of this station are stunning over the water.

See why you need to visit Pop Century Resort now? The next time you have a resort day, hop on over via the Skyliner and have a great time. As always, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!
