NEW 100th Anniversary Disney Medals Revealed — Here’s How to Get One!

Okay, runDisney funs, we’ve got a new look at some medals that you’re probably going to want to get your hands on!

Why? Well, lots of runDisney medals can feature beautiful and unique designs but these medals are extra special because they are designed in honor of the Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary. And to get one you’ll have to participate in the runDisney Virtual Series! Let’s take a look.

We already shared a peek at the medal and theme for the runDisney Virtual Series challenge — the Disney100 Challenge. But now we’ve got a look at ALL of the themes and medals for the runDisney Virtual Series this year and it’s all about the main mouse himself — Mickey! Specifically, it’ll look at Mickey’s designs through the years.

This year, there are three 5Ks. You can complete one or do the Challenge and complete all 3.

In terms of the 5K medals, there’s one themed to Steamboat Willie for the Steamboat Willie 5K.

For you Fantasia fans, especially those of you who love “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” be sure to run that 5K to get your hands on the Sorcerer Mickey 5K Medal — this is for the Sorcerer’s Apprentice 5K.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway was the FIRST ride to focus on Mickey and Minnie and soon fans of the ride will be able to get the Runaway Railway 5K Medal  through the Runaway Railway 5K.

For those runDisney Virtual Series participants who complete all three 5K events — completing the Disney100 Challenge — there’s a special finisher medal. This medal features Mickey and Minnie in their 100th Anniversary outfits. The medal also has a hidden secret: pop off the front part of the medal to get a magnet you can show off. So it’s like two prizes in one.

For those who are new to the runDisney virtual events, you can participate by signing up and then running wherever you’d like, whether that be in your neighborhood, a favorite trail, or anywhere else. The virtual events allow runners who may not be able to get to Disney World to participate from anywhere.

Registration for the 2023 runDisney Virtual Series will begin on April 25th at 10AM ET, so mark your calendars. You’ll then be able to complete the race between June 1st and August 31st, 2023.

Registration is $48 for each race and $160 for the Disney 100 Challenge.
